There were no guards in sight as we exited Christian's hospital room. Zeke had called the doctor and asked if she would help us out with a favor.

Knowing that Christian could make a large donation to the hospital, she didn't have to think long before agreeing to help.

Dr. Jamison distracted Felix so that Harmony and I could sneak out of Christian's room. We ran down the hall and went down the stairs so we could get out faster and without running into anyone else.

Somehow, we made it to her car without anyone noticing us. She had Zeke's car which was a dark BMW with tinted windows. It was obvious it was his car though it had two pink carseats in the back row.

I got into the passenger seat and buckled myself in. "How are we supposed to figure out what's going on with Felix if Zeke is back at the hospital? He's one of the few people who's been around Felix for years."

"I have. Not as much as Zeke though. I didn't get to know Christian's dad much growing up. He kept to himself a lot. We all just thought it was because he was still grieving the loss of his wife and his traitor son."

"I can't believe he was working with Everett behind Christian's back. I mean, he knew Christian had been tracking Everett. I'm sure he told Everett when Christian was onto him so he could hide again."

Harmony sighed. "That makes him just as much a traitor as Everett."

"The pack doesn't take too kindly to traitors, does it?"

She shook her head.

"Do you think Christian would kill his own dad?"

"That's a hard decision for him to have to make. Either he sides with his family or with the pack. If he chooses to spare his dad, he'd be just as much a traitor. I hope he chooses right." I hated to think that Christian had to choose whether to kill or banish his father from the pack. Did they have jails he could be locked up in? I was sure there was a sentence for going against the pack but I wasn't sure how severe it would be. I felt bad that Christian had to make such a tough decision but he was the Alpha. He had to.

I stared out the window as we drove through the town. Seeing a certain building sparked an idea. "Harmony, pull in here. Find somewhere you can hide your car."

She raised her eyebrows but listened to me. She pulled her car behind a brown dumpster and concealed it from sight. "Why are we stopping?"

"Felix will go looking for us if he leaves the hospital. We have to go somewhere he won't expect."

"Then why are we here? This area isn't the best, Blair."

"I know someone who lives here."

"Who?"

I knocked on a brown door marked 2G and crossed my fingers that we would be allowed in. I hadn't talked to Madison in several weeks. She didn't want anything to do with me after Christian fired her and I left town. She had every reason to be mad at me after I left without telling her which resulted in her getting fired from her position at the mansion. I just hoped she'd help us.

The door opened and a short, Asian woman answered the door. She smiled at us with a warm, friendly smile. It wasn't something I was expecting from Madison.

"Hello, Mrs. Yearwood. Luna, it's so good to meet you," She reached over to me and clasped my hands in hers. "What brings you girls here today?"

"We could use your help, Mrs. Frey. May we come in?"

Mrs. Frey's surprised expression turned joyful. She took a step back to allow us to step inside.

Harmony walked in first. I wasn't sure if she was familiar with someone's home looking so sad but she didn't act like it. She ran her hand over a plant that sat just inside the door. "Such a beautiful snake plant."

Mrs. Frey laughed like a little girl. Clearly, she was enamored by having the Beta's wife and the Luna in her home.

I shut the door behind me.

A door across the room opened and Madison stepped out. She paused mid-step as she saw Madison and me. "What's going on?"

"These lovely ladies stopped by for a visit," Mrs. Frey said.

Madison met my gaze from across the room. "We don't need the visitors, Mom."

Mrs. Frey waved her hand at her daughter.

"We're sorry to intrude, Madison. Actually, we could use your help," Harmony said.

"Not interested."

"Hear them out, Madison," Mrs. Frey snapped.

Madison rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. If it wasn't for her mother, Madison would have kicked us out faster than it could take to blink.

"Christian's in the hospital, his father betrayed the entire pack, and Everett's after us," I said.

Mrs. Frey put a hand on her chest. "Oh, you poor thing. How can we help?"

"What do you know about Felix Dawson?"

Mrs. Frey sat down on a brown armchair. "Well, Felix, Christian's father, has been a vital part of this pack for as long as I can remember. He's the pack's doctor. He sees everyone in town. He even helped us when Weston..." Her eyes grew sad and she trailed off. A heavy silence sat in the air at the realization of her words.

I cleared my throat and walked over to Mrs. Frey. I sat down on the couch closest to her. "I'm sorry that our timing isn't so great. We wouldn't have come here if we didn't have to. We're just... out of options. We don't have anyone else we can trust."

Madison's brows furrowed. "The guards can't help you? Christian wouldn't employ them if he didn't trust them."

"We don't want to take the risk."

"What makes you think you can trust us? We're not exactly friends."

I frowned. I hated what happened to our friendship. She was the first friend I had made when I moved to Twisp. She was there for me when I struggled with all the new changes in my life. She helped me realize that I truly did love Christian. I didn't like that I wasn't there for her like she was for me. "I'm hoping that we can. We just need some help right now and then... I won't bother you anymore. You won't have to talk to me and you won't hear from me once this is over. You're a good person, Madison. Please don't leave us high and dry when we need it the most."

She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "What do we get out of this? This is a big risk for us, too."

"We can't offer much right now. Not until things blow over. But we'll assist you in whatever way we can." Harmony offered.

Madison looked from us to her Mom and back. "Alright. We'll help you. But we get a say in any decisions that get made."

I nodded. "Deal."
