One year later.

Mina pulled into an alleyway just past a row of stores and parked the car. She turned around and smiled at Madison and me, particularly me. "Just a few hours and you'll be Mrs. Christian Dawson. Are you nervous?"

I held up my hand, which was shaking a bit. Nervous was an understatement. I'd never been involved in anything so nerve-wracking before. Maybe excluding my pack initiation. That was something I didn't want to think about when I was already a bundle of nerves.

Madison patted my leg. "Blair, it'll be fine. This is an exciting day for you." She gave her mom a sharp look. "Stop freaking her out, Mom."

Mina rolled her eyes. "I'm just building the anticipation."

"Well, it's not helping."

"Madison, it's fine. Really."

Behind me, my door opened and the security guard who usually stood outside of our bedroom at the mansion, Carson, stood outside the car. "Ready?"

I grabbed my bag from where it sat at my feet and got out of the car. Madison and her mom, Mina, followed though they weren't flanked by security guards quiet like I was.

We walked the short distance to the shop and quickly entered before anyone could see us. We didn't have to be secretive but it certainly helped to avoid people from flocking to us.

"Go ahead and lock the doors."

Carson turned the lock on the door before he got into his position to guard the doors. I was glad when Christian let me pick who would keep an eye on me when I wasn't with him. Carson was nice and easy to get along with. I wanted a friend around, not someone stiff and scary.

Franny smiled at me and held her arms out for me. "Congratulations, sweetheart. I'm so happy for you."

I walked over to her and set down my bag before I hugged her. I tried to make it a short hug but she wasn't having it. Franny loved giving affection to people. I was pretty sure it was why Christian always insisted I go shopping with Harmony or Madison and not with him.

"Is Harmony here yet?" Madison asked.

Maria, who was standing behind the counter, shook her head. Her black hair was slicked back and had fake diamonds placed throughout. She had her makeup already done but she was still just in a t-shirt and jeans. "No sign of her yet. I hope she's not having that baby today."

Harmony was in the middle of rebuilding her store when she found out she was pregnant. She told me they weren't planning a third child but they were excited regardless. I was excited for them.

I let out a shaky breath and glanced at Madison. I didn't need anything to go wrong. I couldn't handle any mishaps. Not on my wedding day.

Madison walked over to me and pushed a glass of champagne into my hand. "Relax, Blair. She'll be here. Why don't you go ahead and sit down and we can get your hair and makeup done?"

Maria walked out from behind the counter pushing a sherpa rolling chair in front of her. She set it down in the corner of the room, near a large mirror. "Come here, honey."

I let out a breath and walked over to her. I sat down in the chair and looked at Maria in the mirror.

Maria put her hands on my shoulders. "Relax, Blair."

I just wanted the day to go well. I didn't ask for much so it felt like I should get a nice wedding day because of that.

I chugged the champagne to still my nerves and set the empty glass on the vanity in front of me. "Let's get started then. Madison will get here... when she gets here."
