" Finally mustered up the courage to propose to her." Devin said as he took a sip of his beer.

"Was waiting for the right moment to propose which was like last week." I spoke as I handed Clarence and Jordan a beer."

"So who's going to be your best man?" Jordan asked.

"I have been his friend since high school so it would be me." Clarence said.

"Woah it would be me because I knew him since college and got drafted by the same team together." Devin exclaimed.

"Guys I will make my decision just not now but you know when I tell you." I said as I took a sip of my beer.

"Speaking of weddings, have you told your parents about your engagement?" Clarence wondered.

I chuckled nervously and kept drinking my beer.

"You never told them didn't you?" Clarence asked.

"The only people who know about it are my dad, my stepmom and relatives." I told Clarence.

"Why is your mom always the last person to know about things?" Devin asked.

"Beats me." I shrugged.

"So you are not going to tell them or do it at the last minute before someone tell them?" Jordan questioned.

"I am going to tell them when it is the right time."

"And it is going to backfire on you man." Jordan spoke.

"It is not going to backfire on me okay." I said.

"Don't get mad at me for this but for something that was long time ago are you still angry at her for?" Clarence asked.

I scoffed. "Please I moved on from that."

"I don't think you are honestly." Clarence said as he drank from his beer.

7:12 pm

I gripped the bat tightly and hit the ball that flew over the stadium and ran to the home base as fast I could.

The game was already over and the San Francisco Giants didn't lose their undefeated streak as they already won this game tonight.

As I walked into the locker room, I was limping and my ankle felt like it was in a lot of pain but I brushed it off.

"Good game man, next couple games and we will be in the playoffs." Devin said as he pats me on the back.

I chuckled in pain. "Yeah can't wait to win that championship again."

"Yeah me too and are you okay because you look like you in a lot of pain?"

"Nah I am fine Devin."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah it is just cramps and besides it will go away anyway."

The Next Day

Man I was fucking wrong because this leg is still hurting and I have a game today in the afternoon so hopefully it will stop bothering me.

I got up from bed and went downstairs to the kitchen to see Erika making breakfast.

I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her neck. "Good morning baby." I said.

"Good morning to you too." Erika said.

"Smell good in here." I said as I grabbed a piece of bacon from the plate and took a bite of it.

"Can't even be a patience person huh?" She asked.

I chuckled. "I can be patient."

Erika laughed. "Yeah sometimes but anyway your mom called."

"What did she say? I asked.

"She wants to know if we are coming to dinner on Sunday?"

I sighed. "I made plans with my Dad and my stepmom on that day so maybe next time."

"You know you have been rescheduling a lot of things every time your mom asked about seeing you."

" I don't unless there is a good reason and besides I will visit her on Monday."

I don't hate my mother if that you are thinking but let's just say I am just avoiding her for some obvious and stupid reason.

"Are you coming to my game this afternoon?" I asked.

"You know I will and I have a day off from work today including tomorrow as well."

"I was thinking we could stay home watch a movie and get takeout." I said.

"I would like that more than going to fancy restaurants every time we go on dates." Erika said.

"Yeah same." I chuckled and smiled.
