The worst thing about people is calling someone's phone late at night when they are trying to sleep.
You can try ignoring the calls, but they will persist until you answer or don't want to answer the phone at all.
I groaned and reached for my phone, checking the caller ID before answering.
"Why are you calling me at two in the morning?" I asked.
"Wow no hello or hi but anyway I need your help." Devin tells me.
"With what?" I replied back.
"I can't tell you over the phone so please come over." He said.
"Devin, why can't we talk about this in a couple of hours from now?" I complained.
"We can't because I can't sleep without thinking about it."
I turned to find Erika sleeping soundly and was surprised she hadn't stirred despite the noise. "I'll be there, but you owe me breakfast." I spoke.
I got out of bed quietly, opened the closet, grabbed a random shirt and sweatpants, and put them on. Then, I grabbed my phone and car keys before heading downstairs.

Waffle House
2:35 am
"So that's the entire concept." Devin explained as he shared with me his proposal plan for Aaliyah.
"The entire airplane scenario seems romantic, so what's the issue?" I inquired, finishing the last piece of my waffle.
"Man I am scared that she will say no or think it is corny." Devin said.
"I know she will like it but you could probably do something less expensive." I tells him.
"Says the guy who proposed to Erika on a cruise ship." He told me.
I chuckled. "Okay first of all I wasn't planning to propose to her on there, it was supposed to be somewhere casual and simple but I just thought let me just get over with it and propose to her on the cruise."
The original plan was to either propose to her at the beach or somewhere casual but I changed on my mind on that because I felt like it should had been a good surprise though which it was.
"You totally wanted to propose to her on that cruise man, don't lie."
"Okay fine maybe but at least she said yes to the proposal."
"I think I could just propose to her on Christmas but all of our friends have to be there."
"Yeah we are going to love to watching you embarrass yourself." I joked.
Devin rolled his eyes and laughed. "I promise you that will not happen."

As I was driving, I reached and grabbed the ultrasound picture that was on the passenger side of the car.
I looked at the picture and smiled knowing that everything about to change in my life in the good way.

Flashback
October 24th, 2014
"You good?" I asked, seeing Erika puking in the toilet.
"Yeah it is just a stomach flu." Erika said, getting up from the bathroom floor and washing her face in the sink.
"When was the last time you had your you know..." I shrugged.
"There is no way you think I am pregnant when especially my period-shit I am fucking late."
"We don't know if you are honestly and I mean the last time we had sex, we used condoms and you are on birth control right?"
"You know damn well we didn't use condoms on that night and with the shit that I am dealing with my brother, I forgot about the pills but why the heck are you smiling right now?"
I stopped smiling and snapped out of my thoughts. "Just picturing us with kids." I said.
Erika sighed. "As much I want kids, I don't think we are ready for one because we have a lot of things that we are dealing with right now."
"Yeah but just to be certain you should buy a pregnancy test or go to the doctor to find out if you are." I stated.
"Yeah I think I am going to do that but just know this is all your fault."
I chuckled. "How is this my fault?"
"You know why." Erika said.

"As you two look at the sonogram, it appears that you guys are going to have a healthy baby unless out of nowhere you might end up having twins." The doctor said, moving the transducer around Erika's stomach.
Twins please like that will ever happen but the crazy part twins are really rare in my family and I mean I have two cousins that are twins and an great uncles that are twins so there might be a chance of it happening or not at all.
"I can't believe this is really happening." Erika tells me.
"Yeah me too." I said as I hold her hand.
"Alright your next appointment will be in four weeks from now and Dad would you be there as well?" The doctor asked.
Why did she say it like that?
"Yeah I will be there." I spoke.

I put the picture back where I got it from and the next thing I knew a car crashed into my car which eventually everything around me turned into pitch black.
