"Why didn't you tell me?" Mom asked.

I sighed. "I wanted to tell you at the right time and honestly the right time just never happened."

After everything that has happened in my life, I have come to the realization that expecting things to go back to normal quickly is unrealistic. Life is full of unpredictable events that can have a profound impact on our lives, and it takes time to process and adapt to these changes. Therefore, it's important to be patient and give ourselves the time and space we need to heal and move forward. Even though it may be difficult, we must trust that with time, we will find our way back to a new normal, one that is different but still fulfilling in its own way.

"Hey sorry to interrupt this conversation but babe,Griffin called your phone and said to call him back because it is really urgent." Erika said as she walked into the living room and gave me my phone that I left in the kitchen.

Finally an excuse to get out of this conversation with my mom.

"Hi Ms.Dylan it is nice to see you again." Erika  said.

"You know you can call me Valerie and just call me Ms. Smith because Dylan is my ex husband's last name." Mom told her.

Weird she never corrected anyone if that they called her that and I mean she mostly used Francis's last name ever since she married him but other than that, it is something that she didn't have time to change  it especially the fact that Dad's last names used to be on her mails when she get stuffs sent to her.

"Okay." Erika said.

"Mom can we talk about this later, I need to make an important call an-"

"I am sure that he wouldn't mind waiting and we need to keep talking about this now."

"Mom look I am going to be really honest with you okay but I don't really want you at my wedding."

"You don't want me at your wedding?"

"Yes mom I don't and I am fine with Francis being there but you, I guess not anymore.

I know I am being harsh but I had to get it out of my chest and it is killing me right now.

"Sammy you got to be kidding me, you just going to not invite  your mom to our wedding." Erika stated.

"I am sorry but I have an reason why I don't want her there anymore." I says.

"What is exactly the reason Sammy?" Erika questioned.

Man I am really going to regret this so much.....

"Finally on the walking boot now huh Dylan?" Coach asked.

After receiving treatment for my ankle, I decided to go watch the team practice for the playoff game against the Texan Rangers next week  which is an away game and I have to stay here in California since I am recovering from an injury.

"Yeah done with the crutches and man I wish I can play in the playoffs right now." I told him.

"Me too but can't wait to see my  second favorite player on the field again." He says.

I sighed. "Me too."

"How's the wedding planning coming along?"

"It is going great and hopefully by April I can be on the isle standing on two good healthy feet waiting to marry the love of my life."

"You know you remind me of the love I have with my wife when I was your age and the love is still there."

"That is great and how old are you Coach?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes at me. "Don't make me  force you to  do fifty push-ups on a surgically repaired ankle."

I laughs. "Alright coach I was just joking."

"Just making sure since my age is something I rather keep classified and also how is the  rehab process going for you?"

"It is going great honestly but it is a slow process and I don't want to rush myself."

"Understandable."
