Narrator POV
Adora glanced wearily through the room as her Brother tried to dislodge the Arrowhead stuck in her neck "Don't give me that look, Lonnie...i'm well aware how this must look" she said while the young Girl held back a laughing fit that would surely caused her to piss herself, should she fail
"You really need to be more careful...you can cheat death only so often" Adam explained, slowly removing the arrow and pressing a cloth to the, still open, wound
"Oh, you don't say...good that you remind me, brother, it may have slipped my mind"
A knock on the door let them all look towards it, ready for another nightly ambush "Adora?" Catras voice rang out a few seconds later and Lonnie opened the door slowly
"So...we getting a new member?" the young Girl asked after letting Catra in and closing the door again
"Do not presume one's plans on bare intuition, Lonnie....I imagine you have questions, Catra..."
"..About a thousand" Catra admitted, sitting on the Bed "How are you alive?"
Adora took out her knife that she had laid beside the Bed and played with it "Do..you remember when we were 10 and...Maria had that bad cut on her thigh?"
"Yes...I remember it well... it had been the first time since you found me that i've seen so much blood..you healed her back then, astonishing the court Physician"
"I didn't heal her...though it had looked like I had, even fooling myself into believing that had been the truth" The Princess found that explaining her Magic did little to prove it and preferred a demonstration to make clear that she never had any healing abilities. With one swift motion, the knife in her Hand cut through her left wrist, causing a large amount of Blood to flow form her veins
"Adora?!..." Catras' eyes bulged out in shock and utter confusion when the same golden hue returned to the blondes Iris and the blood stopped, mid air, slowly draining back into her Body, closing the wound as if it never happened. Speechless, the hybrid brushed her fingers over the point where the wound had been "How did you ..."
"I can't heal...but manipulate time in a small radius around me. It has limitations though and I can't use anything like today...too often" Adora explained, her look changing somewhat
"Sister...don't lie to her"
"Im not..."
"Adora...." Adams Eyes were piercing, near threatening
She took a large breath, exhaling slowly "It's ...not without consequences when i reset my Death...I can feel my life slip away each time it happens and...I assume, should I do it too often, I am reducing my life expectancy by a large amount"
"How large?" Catra asked, the worry in her voice apparent
Adora smiled warmly "Who knows...months, years...even I can proudly proclaim to have no idea..but I can feel it happen. As if Thanatos himself laid his hand on me, whispering "Soon"...." an eerily quiet settled in the room before Adora cleared her throat "Now to my question...why were you there? Or rather, how? All I remember is that I was walking back to the Inn and then woke to you in a frenzy beating my assailant half to death" Catra looked bashfully at the princess and disappeared right in front of her "Ohh...now there is something I haven't seen before" Adora waved her hand to where Catra had been and hit something
"... im still here.." she appeared again, revealing that Adora was currently carrasing the hybrids cheek which she abruptly stopped by withdrawing her Hand, slightly embarrassed
"Fascinating....oh damn, now I sound like her"
"Who?"
"Princess Entrapta" Adam explained
