How he fell for me

On the day Seiya returned to Japan, I was waiting at the harbour for him. We hadn't seen each other in six years and couldn't text or call each other. The only time we got in contact was when he called me from Greece to tell me that he would return. Standing near the boats, I looked out on the horizon and watched all the ships stop near me. I was in a more elevated place, so I was pretty easy to spot from the ships and boats.

Truth be told, I was a little nervous that he wouldn't recognize me, after all I did grow quite a lot in the past six years. I also chose to wear my favourite dress and actually tried to look a little pretty, doing my hair and all. We did agree to celebrate together with good food and to look for a place for him to stay.

Leaning my arms on a railing, I simply waited and watched the sea, feeling the air making my hair and my clothes flutter. I thought about all the kinds of things me and Seiya did as children and I couldn't help but giggle at the memories.

I really missed him.

Suddenly I heard someone say my name and turned around to see Seiya with a box strapped to his shoulder. His reddish brown eyes were slightly wide in wonder, his cheeks turned red and his mouth was slightly open. His voice sounded deeper than I remembered but he still looked like I remembered him, though with darker skin. Smiling in happiness, I greeted him cheerfully "Welcome home, Seiya!"

His eyes were twinkling in delight and the smile on his face could have been the sun itself beaming back at me "I'm home!" He greeted me back and quickly approached me "Is it really you? You look so-!" He stopped himself and turned even redder than before.

Tilting my head, I repeated "So?"

Clearing his throat, he corrected himself "You have grown a lot."

"So did you." I chuckled and looked at his brown hair. The sea air had ruffled it a little too roughly, so I corrected it with careful strokes "You are much more handsome now."

His smile was forcibly wide and even his neck turned red at my attention. Trying to save face, he took a step back and replied "Yes... You are also much prettier than before."

"Thank you!" We were silent for a short while and as some people walked past us, I pointed to the city "So, should we grab a bite? Or are you going to look for a place first?"

"Ah, actually have something to deliver to the Kido Mansion first." He shrugged his shoulders and the box behind him made a sound.

Looking at the metal box, I asked curiously "What is this box? Is it the reason why you couldn't take a plane?"

He nodded his head "Yes. This box is the reason why I spent six years in Greece."

I walked around Seiya and took a look at the light coloured box "Is that a pegasus?" I wondered out loud "It's so pretty. The light colour of the metal reminds me of starlight. It suits you."

Blushing again, Seiya explained "It's called a pandora box and inside of it is the cloth from the Pegasus constellation."

"Cloth?" I repeated.

He nodded his head and as we made our way to the Kido Mansion, Seiya told me all about saints, Athena and the cloths. He also told me about his promise to Kido Mitsumasa and about his training he did in Greece but also in Japan as a child.

Having listened to his long explanation, I replied "You really went through hell to archive that cloth."

"Yes, but at least now I can live in peace with Seika... We don't have to live for Kido Mitsumasa anymore and can build a life of our own."

I smiled at the idea but watched how carefully he carried the pandora box on his back. He didn't treat it as a mere tool box but a sacred artefact that was a token of his strength, of his accomplishment for the past six years.

He had grown into a young man already.

Giving him a reassuring smile, I looked up to the blue sky "It would be wonderful, if you two could live near me. I would be able to see you everyday and maybe we could talk about all the things we did in the past six years. I am sure that your training was quite interesting."

He chuckled at my phrasing "Interesting? It was definitely not boring, that much I can assure you!"

I chuckled with him "You have grown. Whatever happened to you in Greece will stay with you forever. And I am sure the cloth is a sign of that." I tilted my head his way and leaned slightly forward "You earned the cloth not because of Kido Mitsumasa. It is your proof that you are a true saint."

He suddenly stopped and I stopped a few steps after him. It was clear to me that he was thinking about what I said and he clenched his hand on the strap around his shoulder "What... are you trying to say?"

Turning around fully, I asked "Are you sure that you want to hand over the Pegasus Cloth like that? Are you sure that you want to simply throw it away?"

He stood still and thought back to his training with Marin, his mentor who made him into the saint he now was. Sighing, he scratched his head and then looked into my eyes. Seeing the smile I gave him, he simply had to smile back and approached me with a few steps "No, I won't give that old man the cloth I worked so hard for. If he wants it, he better be prepared to fight for it!"

I gave him a grin and exclaimed "That's the spirit!"

Seiya grinned in kind and we finally reached the Kido Mansion. Cars from reporters were parked in front and I didn't dare to enter.

Before Seiya entered the building, he told me "Wait here for me! I will come out soon and then we will have a feast to celebrate our reunion! With you around, there is no way the old fart can beat me!"

Chuckling at his silly remark, I responded "I will be waiting for you, right here."

He looked so carefree when he gave me one last smile, before he finally entered the building.
