How he pretended to cry

I love Seiya, I truly do.

But sometimes I feel like I am dating a kid.

A child that never grows up.

A relative of mine once said "Some men may grow but at heart they will remain children forever." Truthfully, they may be on to something, at least that's what I tell myself on occasion when I watch one of Seiya's shenanigans.

It was some popular trend in which someone would pretend to cry and watch how their partner would react. A rather tasteless prank, if you ask me, since I don't even want to joke about my love being hurt.

But, oh well.

I was on my way home when I spotted Seiya sitting in the park, covering his face with his hands and his shoulders shaking. I immediately ran up to him "Seiya! What happened?!"

"Miss Saori." He started, pretending to sob.

"Miss Saori?! Did something happen to her?!" I placed my hand on his shoulder, tilting my head to look at his face. His shoulders trembled stronger and just when I assumed the worst, I somehow saw that stupid grin he was trying to hide with his hands. Angry, I wanted to hit him at the back of his head.

But then an idea popped in my head.

He wants to mess with me?

Then let me make a bigger mess.

With a grim face, I stared down at my boyfriend "I see, so it has already come to this." I could see how his back stiffened, his shoulders hunched up to his ears.

He could sense that something was going wrong.

Compared to him, I fully managed to hide the smirk, giving him the coldest stare I could muster "So, she has finally confessed her love to you?"

"Huh?" Shocked, he looked up at me and his eyes widened upon my harsh glare.

"And you reciprocate her feelings."

"No-Wha-"

"I already thought that the day would come but to see it actually happen." Tears gathered in my eyes and I covered my mouth, pretending to suppress a sob "But if that is how you feel, then I will gladly break up with you."

"No, no, no!" Seiya quickly stood up.

Not giving him a break, I continued "I wish you both happiness!" And I ran away.

Dumbstruck, Seiya stood at place, gripping his hair and wondering in despair what just happened. When he finally realised the situation he was in, he already started to move, intending to follow me. But the moment he reached the entrance, he saw me peeking from behind a tree with dead eyes "Did you finally learn your lesson?"

"HUH?!!!" Stumbling back, Seiya fell on his dumb ass, looking at me with questioning eyes.

My face was unmoving, looking at him with contempt "Never again try to prank me with such a tasteless joke. Next time I will not come back for you."

At that time Seiya didn't quite get what was going on but his brain knew that he needed to console me or else he could say goodbye to our dates for the following month. Sitting on his knees, Seiya bowed down to me, begging me for forgiveness.

An hour or so later, Seiya finally understood that I was acting and gaslighting him, making him pout until I pointed out that he was at fault.

And he never pulled that stunt ever again.
