Sakura's heart skipped a beat as she took in Sasuke's expression. It was a side of him she had never seen before - vulnerable and filled with sadness. She couldn't help but feel concerned as she stepped aside, allowing him to enter her apartment.
Without uttering a word, Sasuke walked in and closed the door behind him. Sakura noticed the tension in his clenched fists, a clear indication that he was trying to gather his thoughts.
"You seem upset... What's wrong?" Sakura asked gently, her worry evident in her voice.
Sasuke let out a heavy sigh, his gaze fixed on the floor. "I... I don't know, Sakura. I'm sorry for leaving without explaining."
Sakura's heart ached at his admission. The room felt heavy with his confession, but she was more shocked by his sudden appearance. "It's alright, Sasuke. Just tell me what happened."
Taking a seat on her couch as if it were his own, he finally looked up and met her eyes. "I can never be like you, Sakura. I can't just do whatever I want and live my life freely."
"Sasuke wha...-"
"When my dad called earlier, it wasn't because he genuinely cared. It was always about the company, never about me or anything else."
Sakura's concern deepened as she approached him. This was not what she had expected. "What if you stopped caring about what he says? Your feelings matter too, Sasuke... Your life shouldn't be a prison."
Sakura's words spilled out of her mouth, and she could feel the pain radiating from Sasuke. He sat there, vulnerable and groaning into his hands. "Do I even matter? I don't even know who I am. It's complicated, and what if I have everything to lose? I have no idea what the future holds for me."
Sakura's heart went out to him, seeing the pain etched on his face. Without thinking, she reached out and held his hand. "You don't have to face this alone, Sasuke. You know that, right? I'm here for you... I'll help you figure it out."
Deep down, Sakura also wanted to talk about the kiss they shared earlier. She couldn't tell if it was just a spur of the moment or if there was something more. She didn't want to waste her time on meaningless flings, and she needed to know.
But maybe now wasn't the right time?
Sasuke's eyes widened, a mix of relief and something else flickering in his gaze as he squeezed her hand. There was something about Sakura that made his heart skip a beat. She had a way of making things better without even trying. He knew he liked her, it was clear. He had never gone through so much trouble for a girl before, but he wanted her.
So fucking bad.
"I needed to hear that," he said, pausing for a moment before continuing, "And about the kiss... I meant it, Sakura. I really like you. But with everything going on, I didn't want to burden you. I don't think I could handle my family trying to come after you or..."
Sakura's heart was filled with a mix of emotions she couldn't quite understand. She had been waiting for this moment, but the complicated circumstances surrounding it took her by surprise. Despite everything, her feelings for Sasuke were undeniable, and she wanted him too.
There was no denying it anymore.
"I don't think you can decide for me, Sasuke. You're not a burden," she reassured him. She noticed Sasuke's gaze wash over her, and she squirmed a bit.
It wasn't until then that she noticed the tension between them, especially considering she was only in pajama shorts and a camisole top.
Sasuke, on the other hand, had immediately noticed what she was wearing when he entered her apartment. If he hadn't been overwhelmed with emotions, he would have been blushing. The realization made his jeans feel a bit tighter, especially now that he had confessed his feelings. The tension between them was palpable, and their time spent together was slowly revealing their mutual desires.
