"Don't walk so fast," Sakura cautioned, watching as Sasuke made his way to the couch. She had to remind herself that she was still on crutches."Sakura, I'm fine. I don't feel much pain anymore," Sasuke chuckled, amused by Sakura's doctor mode.
Several days had passed since the incident, and Tsunade had given Sasuke the go-ahead to go home. His injuries weren't as severe as Sakura had feared.
However, seeing her Sasuke almost beaten to death had left Sakura with doubts. There were so many things happening around her that she hadn't even had time to think about the money deposited into her bank account. But none of that mattered in that moment.
"Tsunade said you still need to be careful. Did you schedule that appointment with the neurologist?" Sakura asked, crossing her arms as she looked at Sasuke's exhausted body.
Sasuke reached for her hand. "I did, so can you stop worrying now, Sakura? Sit down."
Sakura blew a strand of hair out of her face before sitting down next to him. She rested her head gently on his shoulder as they sat in silence in his living room.
Not only would she be able to help her parents with the money, but Sasuke's father seemed to be starting to approve of her. It felt surreal, especially since he had apologized and realized his past mistakes as a father. Did this mean that Sasuke and his father would finally have a better relationship?
"So, Itachi updated me about the Hidan situation. If we press charges, he can go to prison for 5 years..." Sasuke sighed. He just wanted to get it over with and move on. It wasn't worth his time to worry about someone like Hidan.
Sakura traced circles on Sasuke's hand. "Well, I think you should press charges. What he did to you wasn't right, Sasuke. If you could only imagine the state you were in when we took you to the hospital... I can't help but feel..."
Sasuke adjusted his position on the couch and held Sakura's face in his hands. "I'm sorry you had to see me in that condition. But again, it's not your fault, okay? I did it for you, and look, I promised to take care of you no matter what. Sure, things could have turned out badly, but they didn't. Let's just focus on that instead."
Sakura smiled as she looked at Sasuke. "You probably hate surfing now..."
Sasuke chuckled. "Are you kidding me? How could I ever hate it? I honestly didn't even think I'd make it this far if it weren't for you. Thanks to you, I'm no longer a boring guy with no hobbies. You gave me something to do... I learned to love it because of you."
Sakura blushed. "You didn't need to say all of that."
Sasuke leaned in and kissed her forehead. "And why not?"
Sakura's heart raced, feeling flustered around him. Even after almost 5 months since they met, he still made her feel the way she did at the beginning.
All Sakura could do was pull away immediately and fan herself. "Because! I still get so flustered around you, and you tease me about it. God, Sasuke, if you knew how much I've fallen for you..."
Sasuke smiled softly at Sakura's confession, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. He gently took her hand in his, his thumb tracing circles on her skin.
"Sakura, you have no idea," he whispered sincerely. "Every day, I find myself falling deeper and deeper. You've become my everything, and I can't imagine my life without you. I wouldn't change a thing since the first time we met."
Sakura's cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red, her heart overwhelmed with emotions. She looked into Sasuke's eyes, barely above a whisper. "Sasuke... I love you."
