"Oh, shit," Sasuke frantically yelled out as he stumbled off his board. It had been a while since both he and Sakura consistently went to the beach to practice. Sasuke was slowly regretting his decision to allow Sakura to sign them up for the competition.

The biggest mistake ever.

To be frank, he found himself agreeing with her, even though deep down he wasn't excited about it at all. He knew that he wasn't at the level yet to be competing in something like this. Compared to Sakura? She had at least a few years of experience while he had only been at a mediocre level since he started.

"You're too stiff. You need to just feel the wave," Sakura pointed out as she sat on her board. She looked at her raven-haired boyfriend regain balance on his board, shaking off the droplets from his hair.

"I don't know what I was thinking. This is a bad idea... Fuck, why did I agree to this? Who am I kidding? I'm..." Sasuke started to ramble as he looked down at the water.

Before he could finish, Sakura interrupted, "Enough of that. You're doing fine, okay? Take this competition as something to learn from." Sakura tilted her head as she tried to convince Sasuke that it wouldn't be the biggest regret of his life.

"And embarrass myself in front of... I don't know, how many people are going? It's because of those adorable puppy eyes you give me that it was hard to say no," Sasuke paddled his way closer to Sakura as the waves slightly pushed them back.

It was now around August, and he couldn't believe how many months had passed by. So much had happened between him and Sakura, but also with his family. He still didn't know what his father's intentions were, but he hadn't heard from him ever since.

Of course... Sakura had a knack for reading his mind.

"Thinking about your father again, aren't you?" Sakura said, her gaze fixed on him. Sasuke glanced to his right and saw her staring intently at him.

"Yeah, but I don't want to ruin what we're doing now. It's nothing," Sasuke shrugged off.

"Hey, don't feel the need to push away your emotions because of me. I want you to talk to me about it. What's wrong?" One thing about Sakura was that she would never let this go. She always did her best to let Sasuke vent his emotions to her, rather than letting him bottle it up.

She was just that kind of girlfriend. It was something he loved about her.

"The usual. That he's planning something... that he's not really happy about us... I don't know. I haven't seen him since that day, so I can't really put my finger on it. I just feel... uneasy," Sasuke sighed.

"Well, even if he isn't happy about us, that's none of his business, right? I don't care what he tries to do or how hard he'll try to get us to break up. I won't let that happen. Just enjoy what's happening right in front of you, okay? I don't want you to live your life in fear anymore because of him."

Sasuke paddled closer and grabbed her hand. "You know I love you, right? Like, really fucking much."

"Trying to butter me up now, huh? Don't tempt me. We're out here on the beach in public," Sakura bit her lip as she looked at Sasuke.

Sasuke tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "You're the only one thinking dirty here, but I mean if you're initiating something..."

Sakura playfully pushed him off his board, causing him to fall into the water. "Such a pervert! Just... just practice catching that wave again!"

Oops... she didn't mean to do that at all.

"Jeez, you didn't have to push me off the board so hard," Sasuke groaned.
