Trigger warning: Mention of abuse

Emmeline clutched her stomach.

"Emma! Emma!" She heard Genevieve's voice call out somewhere in the distance.

Or was she imagining it?

Her head throbbed. She felt around the ground, the grass was damp and so was her forehead, blood sticking to her curls.

Her head spun making her feel like she was losing consciousness.

She couldn't see straight. But she heard the growls and she knew they would find her soon.

She groaned as she pushed herself to her feet. She swayed knowing she couldn't keep herself right for too long.

But her father must have sent the hunting party over by now.

If they found out what she was trying to do - they would hurt her.

Emmeline swallowed hard. It's not like they could do more to break her than they already had.

She felt a branch scratch her arm drawing blood as she stumbled forward urging her feet to keep her up.

She just needed to get far away enough. Out of her father and her people's territory.

She refused to look back. Not even for Gen who she had left screaming her name in their kitchen.

She clutched her stomach.

It wasn't just herself she was fighting for anymore.

Emmeline moved forward fighting to advance and not fall.

She had to make it.

She couldn't let them take her or her baby.

She saw a familiar white oak tree.

She let out a breath of relief.

The full moon glistened and fear ate at her. She walked, her vision getting more and more blurry by the second.

Magic wasn't allowed on their land.

Or at least that's what her father and the other werewolves said.

Emma almost let out a sigh of relief as she collapsed at the roots of the white oak tree.

In the distance.

Her eyes straining in the dark, she saw a pack of wolves emerge, their gold eyes glistening in the pack.

Magic wasn't allowed on their land.

Well it's a good thing she wasn't on their land anymore.

Emma raised her hand.

Flames erupted out of the grass, building a wall of fire causing the wolves to scurry back in fright.

She should burn all of them. Emma thought to herself, her strength weaning.
