Tobey walked up to the table Maliyah was seated at and placed his hands on the surface leaning forward to look at her.

Maliyah, who was busy studying barely even looked up.

"I already told you, T, if you're hungry, order a pizza." She spoke dismissively.

Tobey didn't say anything and Maliyah saw that as a red flag in itself.

She looked up to look at her brother. She saw the solemn look on his face.

Maliyah slowly put her pen down.

"What's wrong?" She asked slowly.

"Don't be mad." He spoke quickly.

Maliyah opened his mouth but before she could say anything, a tall figure appeared at the doorway.

Maliyah immediately got to her feet.

Her eyes widened at the sight of the familiar man.

"Dad?"

Jonas smiled. "Hi baby girl."

Maliyah was in shock to say the least.

She gaped and turned to look at her little brother.

"What the hell is going on?" She demanded.

Jonas stepped forward.

"What's going on is I'm here, I'm back and I want us to be a family again."

Maliyah glared at Jonas. "You're kidding me, right?"

She turned to Tobey. "Why did you bring him here! Where did you even find him?" She demanded.

"He found me." Tobey answered. "And it was only a matter of time until he found you."

Maliyah was still speechless.

She turned to Jonas. "I don't know what you're here for but we do not want anything to do with you so get out!"

If Jonas was offended, he didn't show.

"Listen, baby girl."

Maliyah took a step back. "Do not freaking call me that! You don't even have the right to call yourself our father. You left us with those crazy people! They killed grandma and you just left!"

Tobey saw the tears running down Maliyah's face.

He suddenly indeed regretted bringing Jonas back here to her.

Jonas frowned.

"Mal," he sighed, "all that I did was for you."

He turned to Tobey as well. "Both of you."

"Yeah, leaving us in a cult of deranged crazies sounds like a pretty cool idea." Tobey spoke sarcastically.

Jonas sucked in a deep breath. "I was never a Propos witch, your mum was. They were never gonna let me take you. So I knew that the only way to get you back was to form an alliance with someone else."

Maliyah didn't believe a word he was saying.

But Tobey was intrigued.

"And this someone else is -"

"Confidential." Jonas spoke. He looked at both of them. "At least for now."

Maliyah scoffed. "How convenient."

"I promise. I'm telling the truth. I made a deal with a very powerful person. And if I fulfill my end of the bargain, his promised to keep you safe from Emma and the other Propos witches."
