Johanna's POV

They call me down for dinner thirty minutes later. I didn't want to unpack since it felt too weird for me to do yet. Instead I took a nap. I roll out of the comfortable covers, trudging downstairs miserably.

Annie is in the kitchen, serving mashed potatoes, roast beef, and vegetables. "What would you like Johanna?" She asks me.

"Um. A bit of everything please." Being at Finnick and Annie's house is almost like a culture shock since I haven't said please and thank you's in a very long time. It's almost impossible to control my temper too. Because of the games, it's gotten worse and worse.

"Here you go," Finnick says happily, placing my plate of steaming food onto the dining room table.

"If you want seconds after you're done with that, feel free to take anything!" Annie calls out from the kitchen.

I sit down at the table. "Thank you Annie. This looks really good. And thanks Finn." He grins at me, walking back to the kitchen to get his own food.

Once we're all settled down and eating, Annie asks me a few questions. We don't know each other very well. And before I wasn't the kindest to her either.

"So Johanna," Annie says, "we're going shopping tomorrow. Is there any places that you want to go?"

I shake my head, finishing off my vegetables. "Wherever you guys go is fine with me. I don't need a lot of stuff."

"Finnick and I were thinking about getting you some new things. Like bathroom things, clothes, books," she lists off possible things I'd need.

"Oh." I forgot all about those things. "I can pay for those you know. It's just fine!"

"No," Finnick hushes me. "We'll take care of it."

Their kindness is overwhelming. It's almost annoying that they won't let me pay, but then again it's kind. "Okay if you insist," I say, giving in. Then I remember something I really need. "Can we also go somewhere that prints photos? I have a few, but they're worn down and ripped."

"Of course!" Annie smiles. "If you need anything, we're here for you Hanna."

I twitch when she calls me that. Hanna? Okay. I'll just have to get used to her calling me that.

"Your doctor told me you're also going to be needing some daily medication," Finnick says. "Since about the whole water thing..." He trails off when he remembers about how much I hate when he mentions that.

"Medication?" I feel anger rising inside of me. "I'm just fine! I took a bath like..." I'm struggling to remember when. Fuck, when was it?

"He told me it was almost a week ago, if you're wondering." Annie mutters. I glare at Annie when she stares at her food.

"It's just a few pills Johanna." Finnick squeezes my hand.

"Still," I growl. Remember Johanna, you have to control yourself. I try to relax, closing my eyes.

"After we pick up your things tomorrow you're taking a bath whether you want to or not," Finnick says firmly.

It's impossible to relax when he says that. And I know Finnick is serious. Whenever I've been in experiences with water ever since the Capitol, I've screamed and broke into a meltdown.

But he's right. "Okay," I sigh, finishing off the rest of my dinner. I want to ask for more, but it's my first night here and they've already done so much.

"You can have seconds if you'd like," Annie offers, walking into the kitchen with her empty plate.

"No it's fine. Thank you. That was really good Annie," I thank her. "Maybe I could help with the dishes?"

"That's okay Johanna." Finnick walls up from behind me, placing his hands on my shoulders. I freeze. "I've got that covered," he whispers into my ear. I try to snap out of it, but it's impossible to when he's right next to me. What are you doing Johanna?

"All right."

Four hours later, it's 10:30 PM and we're all watching highlights of the day on The Capitol Network. There's been a look of rebuilding happening in the Districts because of bombings. "District 8 is starting to look much better," a reporter says on the screen. She's standing outside of the construction site of the upcoming hospital. "The new structure will be built in no time."

"It least they're doing someone right," Finnick mutters from across the couch. Annie's curled up beside him, softly sleeping.

"No kidding," I agree. There's been a lot of good changes in the Districts now. Mostly good. But there have been a few fights in the Districts. They've died down for now.

"Who knows what'll happen next..." He leans his back against the couch, wrapping his arm around Annie. I softly smile at them, letting out a yawn.

"I'm going to go to bed," I whisper to Finnick.

"Goodnight Jo." He squeezes my hand. I nod my head and walk out of the room.

Maybe this won't be so bad at all...

Maybe.
