Finnick's POV
Johanna stormed away, looking angry and depressed at the same time, slamming the door behind her. I don't know whether to chase after her or stay here to calm down Annie.
"Shh, Annie. It's okay. She didn't mean to do that." I hug her tightly. She looks at me. I wipe her eyes. "Jo just has a hard time dealing with all of these new changes. Especially with kindness and the medication. It's going to take her a while, well a long while to settle down and call this place her home, okay?" I sigh, smiling at her.
"Okay," she squeaks, giving me a small smile. "I just wasn't expecting her to scream at me."
"Me either. I think she's just terrified that she's going to be taking a bath now." I groan at the thought of trying to get Johanna into the tub. She's going to claw my face until it's no longer attached to my neck.
"I would be too after all that she went through." Annie sighs. "Let's go inside. Can you try to make her take her Meds before going into the bath?"
We walk up the front steps, opening the front door. "I'll try," I mutter glumly. This is going to take forever.
"Thank you Finn." She kisses my cheek, sneaking into the living room. I walk upstairs nervously, taking my time. I try to imagine what Johanna is going to do. She's been through so much. I don't blame her for being this angry and scared, but it's making my job almost impossible.
"Johanna." I knock on her bedroom door three times. I hear footsteps. They stop right behind the door.
"I don't want to." Her voice is muffled. She must have her face pressed against the door.
"I know you don't," I say, shaking my head. "But we have to do this. This is part of your treatment and we both know you're never going to get better unless you do this. Also you'll smell really bad too."
She lets out a shaky laugh. The doorknob pops, meaning she's unlocked the door. Johanna opens the door. She looks down at the floor, her legs shaking like crazy. "Come on," I say, grabbing her hand. I give it a gentle squeeze. "We're stuck in this together."
"Together," she repeats.
"Yeah," I say. Together, we walk into her bathroom, shutting the door behind us. I take out the shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body wash we just bought today at the store. "You're going to look amazing," I tell her. "Imagine you smelling like a field of roses afterwards."
Johanna nods her head, then freezes. She starts trembling, and then I realize she's looking at the bath tub. "It's not going to be that long. You're going to be okay."
"Yeah," she manages to say, her voice cracking. I've never seen Johanna cry before. And I don't want to see her like this either. But this has to be done. The doctor explained this to me dozens of times.
I turn on the water. Johanna starts moving towards the door, but I pick her up, trapping her in my arms. "FINNICK, LET ME GO! FUCK!" Her nails are digging into my skin.
"God dammit Jo," I mutter, lowering us both into the tub. She's practically climbing on top of my back. Her toe barely touches the water and her eyes widen.
"NO!" She screams, pulling at my hair.
"Johanna you have to do this," I say, trying to lower her into the bath tub. "Remember what I said? You're going to smell and look amazing after this."
Once I've lowered her into the bathtub, she starts to pull at my arms, trying to free herself. "Please Finnick," she begs. "Let me out."
"I can't." I feel desperate. The water rises, slowly levelling higher and higher. In a few moments it's up to our shoulders. Johanna breaks. She starts crying into her soaking hands, flinching when the water drips off of them.
