He swiftly followed her, his movements stealthy and silent as he trailed after her through the thickening foliage. Her fast strides gradually slowed down, little by little as she went deeper and deeper in the small forest situated behind their school.
He could hear her laboured breathing and the fast pump of her heart, his own chest constricting with unease as he could feel her angst and sorrow through the bond.
Stupid mindless idiots, he cursed at his warriors, angry at them for making his mate feel like this. He didn't like it. Maybe he was still mad at her for saying those words and hurting him like that but that didn't mean that he didn't care anymore. He couldn't stop caring for her even if he tried. The bond was way too strong and his heart was already there, in the palm of her hand. He could try and deny it but he knew the truth. He was whipped. Utterly smitten. Caught in her strong hold.
She could walk all over him and he still wouldn't stop yearning for her.
He took an abrupt halt and hid behind a tree as she lastly stopped and sat at the base of another, small tears already trailing down her cheeks as she leaned her back against the rough bark.
Fuck.
His wolf restlessly paced within him, whining and mourning with her as he let himself feel everything she felt, trying to at least ease up her worry and sadness as he listened to her small and heart-wrenching sobs, watching those tears fall as her delicate body lightly shook.
It's okay, please don't cry. Don't listen to them. You're not pregnant, I promise. I would never do that to you without your permission.
She abruptly stopped letting out those tiny wails, her wet and red-rimmed eyes wider as she curiously peered around herself, making him mentally smack himself and quickly hide back behind that thick trunk as he realized that he'd inadvertently whispered those words to her through the bond. Whoops.
Shit.
"Fuck off!" He suddenly heard her scream out loud with rage and frustration, making him quietly snicker with amusement at her childishness.
He was about to sneak another glance at her when the familiar scents of his two warriors and that little lone runt reached his nose, making him pause.
He closely listened, hearing their rushed movements as they approached his mate.
"Carrie?"
"Who were you screaming at?" He almost snorted at his warrior's antics, rolling his eyes.
"Pleaaaase cut with the crap. You know I'm standing right here, Zara," He mind-linked with her and Brie too.
"You should leave now, Alpha. You've already hurt our Luna enough as it is," Her answer was sharp and curt, making him raise his brows even though she could not see him.
"Your Luna? Just a few weeks ago you were mocking her for being a human and now she's your Luna?"
"We were mistaken. We didn't know that she was ours, a gift from the Moon Goddess herself. We are sorry and we deserve punishment," She sent through the mind-link as he shifted to have another peek at them, watching the little runt sit down and hold his mate in her arms as she let out another few small sobs here and there, his warriors flanking them in a rather protective way as they sat down too.
"Yes, you do. And if you ever make her cry like this again I will personally ensure that you suffer. Badly," He told them with a cold and authoritative tone, immediately receiving the answer,
"Yes, Alpha,"
He watched for another moment, making sure that they didn't blow up his cover as they sat there with his mate, forcing themselves not to bow down or express any facial changes despite their wolves pestering them for not respecting their Alpha.
He gave them a small and non-verbal form of reprieve, allowing them to relax a little bit as he continued to watch, albeit a little surprised at their caring and protective attitude towards the little lone wolf too, despite the fact that their wolves hadn't even properly met yet.He could feel that she was scared of them all, the lone wolf. She was scared of them shitless, and that was why they couldn't even feel her. She had buried herself so deep within her human side, refusing any outside contact. Hell, he couldn't even tell that she was a wolf too, the first time he'd seen her around his mate.
He could easily force her out if he wanted to, but he knew that that would definitely anger his mate. Hurting her friend like that.
At least she's a good friend for her, he thought as he watched the little runt soothingly hold her for another moment, secretly wishing that it was him the one holding her like that as he quietly left.

I could only sit there, in silence, small sighs still wracking throughout my entire body as my tears had long since stopped flowing, leaving me with a bitter feeling and one hell of a headache.
Jess was still holding me, patiently waiting for me to calm down as we sat there for a while longer, drowned in serenity and the natural sounds of the forest.
Zara and Brie didn't dare say anything either, keeping quiet as they sat with us too, offering their emotional support.
I blew out a tired sigh and wiped away my still wet cheeks, meeting Jess' dark blue and warm gaze as she peered back at me, offering me a kind smile.
"So do you like, transform into a wolf too?"
I watched her eyes widen, her face coloring with a reddish hue as she blinked a few times.
Sorry dude, I sheepishly grinned. I was in dire need of a distraction. Anything to take my mind off of...him.
"Yeah..." She eventually managed to say, albeit still a little nervous as she peered between the two wolfy girls flanking our sides.
"Can you do it now? I mean, can you do it whenever you feel like it?" I simply asked her out of pure curiosity, my brows furrowing as I watched her lower her gaze to the ground, for some reason becoming sad as she quietly admitted,
"I haven't been able to..."
I didn't try to pretend that I understood how they worked, how all this wolfy thing worked and chose to stop asking anything more instead as I didn't want to make her feel any more uncomfortable, cluelessly looking at the two other wolf girls, watching them give her sympatethic looks right before she suddenly started speaking again,
"Well, I haven't been able to ever since they got here,"
They. Nathan's little clique.
"She's very scared of them for some reason. She hasn't even talked to me in a while now," She explained with uneasiness, her worried gaze meeting my own as she lastly said,
"I don't know why but she only feels comfortable around you,"
Wait, me?
"You could try doing it with her," Brie suddenly intervened with that weird suggestion, my brows furrowing again as I obviously failed to understand what she was talking about.
Do it? Do what?
"Our wolves want to meet her. They've been trying to reach out to her for a while now but we can't because she's too afraid. And that makes us restless too," Zara chimed in too with a hint of sadness, my brain though still failing to catch up what they were trying to say.
"Wait, hold up, hold up, what does that have to do with me? What do you mean do it with me?" I questioned, curiously peering between them.
"Transform. You can help her transform,"
