I timidly stared at the unfamiliar faces, my heart starting to pound even harder as I watched the first two people descend the last steps and make their way straight towards us.

They were clad in fine and expensive-looking clothes, both carrying themselves like veritable royalty as they approached us with precise and unhurried steps.

They were Nate's mom and dad. At least that I could notice now.

Shit. The king and the queen.

"Mother, father," Nathan greeted them with a smile and a small bow, moving forward to engulf his mother into a nice hug.
"Welcome home, honey,"

"Amore di mamma!" My brows furrowed at the sound of that thick italian accent, casually drawing my attention and I quickly turned my head towards the source of it, noticing a woman who shared similar traits with David run straight towards him, practically throwing herself in his arms.

"And who is this lovely young lady?" She said with a genuine smile on her face as soon as she pulled back and looked at Jess, making her timidly smile and blush.

Wow. She seems nice.

"Mother, father, this is Carina Evangeline DeLuca," My head immediately snapped back at the sound of my full name being mentioned, my eyes widening as soon as I noticed both of Nathan's parents bow their heads as they faced me.

What the fuck? Am I still dreaming?

"The kingdom welcomes you, Encantum princess. I am Alpha Lucien and this is my mate, Luna Elise," they presented themselves, so I awkwardly bowed too as I obviously didn't know what else to do.

This was already so freaking weird!

"So, this is our future Luna," his father smiled with a hint of pride as he took a moment to look at me, making me blush and feel so self-conscious.

Wow. Nathan looked so much like him. It was like looking at an older version of him. The only difference were his eyes. They weren't green like Nathan's, but a dark shade of brown, seeming almost black whenever caught in a shadow.

"Lysander gave us the wonderful news that you are true soulmates," his mother said with joy, my interest however piqued at the sound of my father's name being mentioned.

So it was true? He was here?

"This is amazing! You are betrothed and destined at the same time! This has only happened once before between the werewolf clan and the shamans! You two are clearly blessed by the Goddess!" She moved forward to grab my hand, genuine happiness glinting in her vivid green eyes as she gazed at me, making me blush again and feel so overwhelmed by everything that was currently happening. I couldn't help but smile back though, disarmed by that sweetness in her tone and her warmth. She really seemed like a kind person.

"And I see that she is already marked," her perfectly arched brows suddenly drew together as soon as her vivid green gaze fell on that scar on my neck, narrowing as she averted it straight to her son.

"Nathaniel Archibald DarkHart, you better not tell me that you did it without her consent!"

I almost gasped out loud, furiously blushing now at the sound of her scolding tone, my gaze instinctually trailing to Nathan's face, just in time to notice that guilty look now marring his features as he stared at her before slowly lowering it to the floor, looking like a child that just did something bad.
It looked quite comical though, if I were to be honest as he was so much bigger and taller than her, and yet he was shrinking under her gaze as if fearful of her wrath.

"I..."

"My wolf was-"

"Do not pin this on your wolf! I know that you are capable of controlling him better than any of us do with ours! He is the example of pure obedience and discipline! I want to know the truth!"
