He couldn't contain that stupid smile that spread over his lips as he softly laid himself next to her, careful not to bother her or wake her up as he propped his chin in his hand and stared at her peacefully sleeping form, still smiling like an idiot.

She looked so tiny in his large bed even though she'd sprawled herself like a damn starfish, softly snoring through her nose and without a single care in the world.

Her chest slowly moved up and down with every long and calm breath, describing the epitome of peace and serenity.

Goddess...she's so fucking adorable...he thought as he let his gaze roam over her feminine and delicate features, devoid of any form of expression, fighting the urge to just lean over her and start peppering kisses all over her beautiful face.

And I'm such a fucking creep, he lightly shook his head and blew out a sigh through his nose at that embarrassing thought, her movement suddenly drawing his attention as she turned on her side and snuggled herself against his chest, obviously guided by that instinct that kept pushing at her through the bond to stay close to her mate, even in her unconscious state.

His muscles contracted at the feel of her soft hands on his bare skin, leaving a trail of those delightful sparks wherever she touched him.

Mine...his primal instinct growled from within, making him possessively wrap an arm around her and pull her even closer against him, inhaling that tantalizing scent of hers as he gently placed his chin atop her head. She smelt amazing. Delicious even. He couldn't stop breathing in her addictive scent, over and over again as he listened to the steady and calm beat of her heart as she continued to sleep.

He missed this so much. Having her sleeping right next to him in his bed, feeling the warmth of her body and hearing that steady thump of her heart, letting it gently lull him to sleep as he quietly admired her, lying there on his pillow.

It'd only been a few days since she lastly slept here in his bed yet to him, it felt like an entire eternity. A fucking miserable eternity.

She did hurt him, very much so when she started spewing all that crap to her father about him not wanting her, or not wanting anything to do with her at all, and that was why he said all those things in return. Except that, he didn't mean any of it. He could never stop trying to win her heart, no matter how many times she'd try to push him away in return.
She was his. And he was hers. His heart, his very soul belonged to her whether she-

The soft sound of that smart intercom that announced whenever someone was on their way up to his apartment suddenly interrupted his deep thoughts, abruptly drawing his attention.

His brows furrowed, giving his peacefully sleeping mate a once-over before he stealthily climbed off of the bed, careful enough not to bother her.

Using fast and quiet moves, he then made his way downstairs and waited for the elevator to reach his floor as he intently stared at it with curiousness.
And soon enough, those two doors slid open to reveal his visibly agitated beta and the little runt, her face red like a tomato as she wordlessly walked inside his apartment without so much as a single glance behind her.

His brow rose, curiously watching his beta walk inside and pace around like an angry lion in a cage, frustration rolling off of him in waves as for some reason, he was the one refusing to look at his mate now.

"Everything...okay?"

David's gaze snapped in his direction as if only now having noticed that his Alpha was also in the same room, a very serious look marring his features as he uttered with determination,
"If I come back here tonight, don't let me in,"

Oh. That.

He quickly nodded in understanding, already knowing what was going on. His beta's wolf was on a horny rampage again.

Yikes.

It didn't happen very often but when it did, let's just say that things tended to get pretty messy.

"I'll bring her car back at school tomorrow morning," Was the last thing that he said before turning around to leave.

He watched as David stormed back to that elevator and punched that button with urgency, desperate to get away from there as fast as possible as he was noticeably already having a hard time trying to contain his riled-up beast.

"Can I ask what happened?" His gaze trailed to Jess as soon as those sliding doors closed, noticing that very embarrassed and guilty look painted over her features as she rather timidly raised her gaze to look at him.

"Frankly, I don't even know," She replied with uneasiness, her face becoming red again and her pulse increasing as she seemed to think about something.

"He...We were...uhmm..." Words evaded her as she nervously fidgeted in her spot, obviously having a hard time trying to explain exactly what happened without feeling utterly mortified for some reason.

What the hell did you do, brother?

"Right. Okay," He blew out a tired sigh, deciding that he didn't really want to know anyway so he turned around and started walking towards the stairs.

"Follow me,"

He could hear the sounds of her hurried footsteps trailing right after him as he led her to a guest bedroom, watching her walk past him as she entered, only to quickly turn around and throw him a mildly betrayed and disbelieving look. He already knew why. He'd purposely lied to her that he didn't have any guest bedrooms precisely so that she would have to spend some time alone with his beta on her way home and perhaps even work through their issues.
Obviously, that hadn't worked. If anything, it only seemed to have made things worse as here she was right now, in his home instead of his beta's.

"Whoops. I lied," He simply said with a shrug and a shameless smirk, receiving a disapproving look from her.

She thankfully didn't say anything regarding that subject and chose to sit on the edge of the bed, her hands folding into her lap as she rather quietly said,

"Should I be worried?"

He instantly knew the reason why she'd asked that. His beta's alarming behavior.

"No it's okay, you're safe here with me," He rushed to assure her, offering her a kind smile.

"At least he was smart enough to bring you here first," He watched her eyes widen with newfound terror as soon as he'd uttered those words, making him feel kinda guilty as he could only imagine what was going through her mind in that specific moment.

"Okay, I guess you should know this since you're his soulmate and everything," He decided to at least save her the trouble of not knowing what was really going on and straight up tell her everything.
She was bound to find out anyway one way or another.

"If you don't plan on having sex with him at the moment, try not to rile him up too much," He started speaking, plain and simple, not failing to also notice the way her eyes grew wide and her cheeks bloomed with colour again as soon as he'd said that.

"Because as nice and kind his human side can be, his wolf is..."

"Well, a completely different story,"

"He's a fucking twisted psycho, and that is something, considering the fact that I'm the one saying it," He finished with a chuckle and a mild shake of his head as he thought about that crazy fucker that was his beta's wolf and his demented antics, that smirk falling off of his face as soon as he noticed that outright horrified look that now marred the little runt's features.

Crap.
