He tiredly sighed, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jeans as he noticed his future warrior sitting there on the stone pavement, her back resting against the garage door.
Her hands were wrapped around her bare knees, holding herself as she slowly rocked back and forth, letting those tears run free.
No sounds came out of her though, not a single fucking sob as she sat there and suffered in silence, shaking like a leaf in the wind.

It pained him to see her like this, so utterly devastated.

She was his friend after all, his pack-mate. The one he'd lost his virginity to, and the only one strong enough to take on his wolf's violent tendencies during sex.
She was the one he'd found refuge within during those harsh few years after his brother's unexpected death. The only one who never questioned him, simply offering herself whenever he needed her to; whether it was rough and bruising sex or just a shoulder to cry on.

And now, she was the one who needed him. The one in dire need of a shoulder to cry on.

It wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling; having your heart ripped in half by your own mate. He'd known it. That sinking, gut-wrenching feeling. The pain. That hopelessness.

No wolf deserved that, no matter how kind or cruel.

He stood in front of her, stretching out his hand as he peered down at her, offering her a small and humorless smile.

Her teary and reddened gaze rose to peer up at him, hesitating for a few good moments before she lastly accepted his silent offer, placing her hand in his.
He helped her get up, their gazes meeting again as she held onto him for a few seconds longer to steady herself, his wolf though becoming a little restless at the feeling of their closeness as he didn't like being touched by other females, now that he had his own mate. Especially one of the females he'd been intimate with in the past.
He felt like he was doing wrong by his Luna; for his body belonged to her and only her now. Hers to touch and gaze upon, and no one else's.

"You reek of mating pheromones," Estefany's nose scrunched up with disgust, displaying a look of pure annoyance.

"Seriously? That's what you care about right now?" He chuckled, lightly shaking his head.
"For your information, you don't smell any better either,"

He could feel the stench of her dried-up cum from a mile away. Along with the scent of another sticking on various parts of her body.
It didn't matter though. He didn't care. He never did. She'd been nothing but his good friend anyway. That was all she's ever been, even during those times when they still had their frequent encounters.

"Where are we going?" She asked as he'd already wrapped his hand around hers, dragging her after him as he started walking to the back of the house.

"You'll see," He simply said, walking down the small alley leading to the backyard. And once there he stepped on the wooden porch of the girls' house, signalling for Estefany to be silent and listen as they happened to stand right underneath the small balcony leading to Andrea's room.

"...They're not trying to hurt us, I swear.
Believe it or not, they're actually trying to protect us." It was Carina's voice.

"...You're safe with her. And I with Nathan. They're the safest persons we could ever be around,"

His gaze met Estefany's, staring at each other like two dumb idiots as their faces brightened with a smile, listening to their mates talk.
His heart warmed at the merest sound of his mate's sweet voice, grinning like a damn fool in love.
He really was in love. With the most caring and beautiful girl alive.
Damn. He felt like jumping up that balcony and pulling her in for a kiss. Or a thousand, more likely.

"Look at you, you're not even crowned king and queen yet and you're already working together to solve pack problems," Estefany said with a knowing smile, careful enough not to raise her voice too much and risk having the girls hear them.
Her tears were now long forgotten, a calmer expression taking over her features as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"What can I say? We make a good team," He shrugged, his chest though filling with pride at the thought of it. He really did make a good team with his mate. This was already the second time they were dealing with issues of this nature. Trouble between soulmates from their pack.
And he'd dealt with them very easily with the help of his mate. His Luna. His future Queen. Our beautiful and caring little mate, his wolf agreed.
Goddess, I can barely wait to claim her in front of our pack and the Moon. To make her fully ours, like she was meant to be.

He heard Estefany blow out a sigh, her expression turning sympathetic as she started to speak again,
"I know haven't told you this before but, I'm happy for you, Nathan. I really am."

"I'm happy that you've found your queen, because I know, better than anyone else how much you've suffered."

That was true. No matter how hard he'd try to deny it. She was the only one who'd seen him at his very worst.

"You deserve happiness, Nate," She said, her sparkly brown eyes meeting his as she touched his arm, offering him a candid smile.

"And I know that she's the one who'll give it to you," He smiled at the sound of that, his very heart filling with hope as he dared imagine his future with her.

A house filled with their kids. Them growing old together.

"She's the one who will mend your heart," Estefany said with a hint of promise and faith in her voice, her gaze raising up towards the porch's ceiling as if trying to send a prayer to their sacred Goddess.

"The one who will mend us all,"
