I could swear that my head was about to blow up by the time we'd arrived at school, feeling so damn fed up with Mr. Sunshine's unrelenting devilish mood.

He'd kept taunting me for the whole ride to school for some reason, making sexual innuendos and "clever" remarks one after the other, my very uncomfortable and generally displeased reactions apparently amusing him to no end as he'd either laugh or give me those demonic smirks of his in return.

Fucking asshole.

I blew out a tired sigh, happy to be finally out of his damned car as I angrily slammed that door behind me and waited for Jess, not even bothering to listen to what he'd just said in reply as I looked at her, surprised to notice the way she was rather fearfully gazing around the parking lot, seemingly looking for something or maybe someone.

"You okay?" I asked with a hint of worry, not failing to also notice the way she lightly startled before giving out a quick and small nod, her gaze sticking to the ground as she went to link her arm with mine and walk towards the entrance.

"Hey where's your car by the way?" I casually asked upon remembering that I haven't seen it in the underground parking area at Nathan's, he himself being the one to provide me with a reply as he quickly answered,

"David borrowed it so that he could go home last night,"

I only threw him a look that said "I wasn't talking to you" before averting my attention back to Jess, that angsty look constantly taking over her features starting to worry me a little.

However, I refrained myself from saying anything for the moment and walked with her to our lockers to take what we needed for our first period, but not before making a quick stop to that damned news board and ripping off that stupid photo of David and I.

I crumpled it in my hand and looked at her, feeling so damn stupid and awkward as I hesitantly said,
"We...We didn't..."

"Don't worry, I know," She offered me a kind smile, making me feel a little bit relieved as I quickly nodded and returned her smile, letting her tangle her arm with mine again as we walked together to our first period.

**

My gaze kept drifting to her as I could notice that pensive and anxious look that kept making its appearance on her face even as we sat in the classroom, consciously avoiding to look around as she sat in her seat by the wall, all quiet and visibly nervous.

Not even Zara or Brie, who were currently sitting right in front of us had managed to get out a single word from her as they tried to make small talk with with her for a few times until they eventually gave up and let her be, to her own devices.

"Dude, you're worrying me. What's up with you?" I finally dared to ask as I looked at her, only to suddenly notice the way her eyes went wide, filling with utter terror as she stared somewhere towards the entrance of the classroom.

Brows furrowed, I curiously averted my gaze in the same direction, watching David walk inside with a sour mood, his gaze softening as soon as he turned his head to look at the terrified being sitting right next to me.

However, as soon as he noticed that look on her face he became confused too, seemingly failing to understand the reason behind her rather extreme reaction.

Seriously, what the fuck is going on?

I turned my head towards the other row of desks to throw Nathan a look, unsurprisingly catching him staring in David's direction too, his expression however displaying the epitome of cool calmness and unimpaired focus. He was watching him. Waiting for a reaction.

Okay. This is getting fucking weird. I needed to know what was happening and I needed to know it right then and there.

So I blew out a breath and tried my best to focus, mentally praying to the skies for it to work as I looked at Nathan again, tentatively uttering in my mind,

"What's going on?"

I imagined him hearing it, hearing my voice and my words as I covertly peered at him, waiting for a reaction, anything at all.

He said that we had a special bond and that I could talk in his head too if I wanted to, so it had to work, right?

This better freaking work, I muttered in my head, watching the ghost of a smile dance on his lips as he lightly shook his head, throwing me a discreet look.

"Way to go, love. You did it after all," His sensual voice echoed in my head, making me want to jump up and do a victory dance as I couldn't help but feel so satisfied, a small smile spreading on my lips as I sent through the bond,
"Yeah, yeah. Now tell me what the hell's going on with these two,"

He didn't hesitate before quickly replying,
"They kinda had a falling out last night and I may or may not made it worse in my attempt to help them out,"

Why was I not surprised?

I threw him a disapproving look, quickly masking it with indifference as soon as I noticed David taking a seat right next to him, but not before throwing a look in our direction.

"I've sent them home together to make them talk and figure their shit out but apparently, David kinda fucked that up by letting his psycho wolf get out and scared the crap out of her," He explained through the bond, unfortunately only managing to confuse me even more.

"Wait what?"

"Yeah, his wolf is...he doesn't exactly match David's personality. He's been having trouble handling him ever since we were pups,"

"What do you mean?" Now I felt kinda scared and uneasy too.

"He...grows very sexually frustrated from time to time, and he kinda becomes aggressive if he doesn't...have sex,"

"What? Oh my g-Holy shit!" I couldn't help but feel so weirded-out at the sound of that, my gaze secretly trailing to that generally nice and sweet guy that now sat right next to Nathan, obviously having a hard time trying to wrap my head around the fact that he had a wild horny beast inside of him, actually capable of hurting Jess.

"Yeah, and I may or may not made it worse by actually trying to explain all that to Jess," Nathan's voice echoed in my head again as he continued to explain, receiving another disapproving frown from me.

"Wow, way to go, dumb-ass,"

"She was scared because she didn't know what was going on and I thought that maybe it was better if she did,"

"Yeah, obviously not," I hadn't realized that I'd said that out loud until I lastly noticed the way Jess was now curiously peering at me, her brows furrowing as she mouthed out,
"Who are you talking to?"

I blinked a few times, only now realizing that the whole class was actually staring at me, including our teacher as she rather irritatedly asked,

"Is everything okay, miss DeLuca?"

I only nodded and sunk back in my seat, a little embarrassed after all that.

"Looks like we still have some practicing to do, sweetheart," I could hear the amusement in his tone as he spoke in my head again, making me roll my eyes with annoyance.

"Ugh, just shut up,"
