Adishh pov.
I jumped off from her balcony and entered our guest room, only to find a figure sitting in the darkness. It was none other than my one and only brother, Mr. Advish Chandrakanth.
"Where were you my dearest brother, or should I ask what was that busy work you had I that neighboring balcony." He questioned.
"Actually came here to get some spare bed spread but I got a call, so I end up in a balcony." My stupid mouth was stammered in between twice, fuck i'm every bad at lying. He glare at me and took his phone in his hand.
"My brother, doesn't even know how to lie properly."
Fuck man, I was caught. What story should I cook up now, or should I even bother? He gestured with his eyes towards my phone; upon checking, I found a WhatsApp message with, actually, a couple of photos.
(Tried all over to find relevant picture but I could find only these. Use your imagination to picturise the sence and photos.)
It was photos of Adhya and me. The clever guy had seen me adjusting and tucking Adhya's saree and had snapped some photos."Hey, Bro," I began, trying to sound casual. "What brings you here?"
He flicked on the light, revealing a look of disappointment on his face. Displaying his phone, the photos from today were glaring back at me, including one with Adhya that was clicked in Bangalore.
"I knew you were up to something," he stated, his voice heavy with accusation.
"Like what? We haven't done anything wrong," I replied, trying to feign surprise and innocence.
"I know you're dating her. Why the need to hide it from me?" His voice was now laced with hurt and accusation.
"I'm not hiding. I just wanted to find the right time to tell everyone. It's not just my secret; it's hers too. She should tell you when she's ready," I explained, feeling defensive.
"When are you planning to tell everyone?" he pressed, clearly not satisfied.
"I don't know, not yet. We've only been dating for a few months. It's not something I want to broadcast. She's not ready either, I suppose," I said, trying to reason with him.
After I shared the whole story with him, his mood shifted.
"Have you ever kissed her? Or even touched her?" he asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Listen, you know I'm your elder brother, and I can break you anytime," I threatened, not appreciating the direction his questions were taking.
"I'm your bro, and I deserve to know," he retorted, his tone now teasing.
"Alright, yes, we've kissed. But that's it," I admitted, deciding it was easier to come clean.
"Tell me the whole story. I don't believe you've been dating for months without more happening. Come on, are you a virgin?" he prodded, pushing my buttons.
"Idiot," I snapped, grabbing a slipper to throw at him. He dodged and fled, only to return momentarily, planting a kiss on my cheek. "I'm going to have a cool and beautiful sister-in-law, thanks!"
I launched the slipper in his direction, but it missed. He smirked, about to leave, then paused. "You forgot something," he said, nodding towards my phone. Sensing his intention, I quickly grabbed it back.
"Hey, you forgot to send the photo to your girlfriend," he teased, chuckling.
"Damn it."
I hastily sent the picture to Adhya before handing him the phone. He smiled knowingly and said, "Don't worry, you're the only one in my heart," before leaving the room.
Adhya texted back, puzzled, "Who clicked these pictures? 🤔" - boo bear😘
"Somebody." -Adi❤️
"Who?"-boo bear😘
"Advish. He caught us red-handed 😂."-Adi❤️
"Damn." - boo bear😘
"Relax, he's cool about it. But my pocket's going to suffer."-Adi❤️

Relieved yet still processing the day's events, I collapsed onto my bed, wrapping myself in a blanket like a cocoon, and drifted off to sleep.

Adhya pov.
Tomorrow is my birthday, so I've planned a shopping trip with my amma. Being the only child in my home, my birthday always turns into a grand celebration. I might be a troublemaker, but my parents love me dearly-after all, they don't really have another option, do they? Ha ha ha... But I still celebrate my birthday like a little kid: wake up, take a bath, head to the dining table where amma will have prepared some homemade sweets. Both amma and appa will feed me, showering me with wishes. Then, in the evening at 7 pm, we'll have the cake cutting and gift session, surrounded by some neighbors and friends, followed by dinner. And then, off to bed I go, ending the day on a sweet note.
I had no siblings growing up, but my friends who have younger brothers and sisters told me about their birthdays, and they sounded a lot like mine. A big deal was made out of it, with all the family and friends gathered to celebrate the occasion.
Do I sound childish, let it be. I believe in celebrate your inner child concept. Doesn't it sounds good and peace.
So today I going to buy some clothes and other shopping to it our house tradition buy clothes for every special occasion. Today, I'm heading out to buy some clothes and other items, keeping up with our family tradition of purchasing new attire for every special occasion. Amma will pick up the items we've picked from different shops, while appa and I will go to the bank, make an advance payment, and take the required cash from the ATM.
Even as I earn my own keep now, there's something profound about the way our parents continue to support us. A simple call to my walking ATM machine (dad), and I have access to the resources I need. It's not just about the money; it's a reminder of the enduring bond between parent and child. No matter how much we grow, in their eyes, we'll always be that same child with tiny feet and a heart full of dreams. It's a poignant realization that despite life's complexities, some things remain beautifully simple-like the unwavering love of our parents.
