Adhya's POV:
After the unexpected but heartfelt reunion with Adishh at the party, we said our goodbyes to everyone and caught a cab back to my flat. The ride was filled with a comfortable silence, both of us lost in our thoughts, savoring the renewed connection between us.
When we reached my flat, I offered Adi some water. "Make yourself at home. Get freshened up if you want," I suggested, trying to keep things casual despite the tension simmering between us.
He nodded and disappeared into the bathroom. I busied myself in the kitchen, trying to calm my racing heart. The sight of him after all these months, and the intensity of our conversation, had left me feeling a whirlwind of emotions.
A few minutes later, I heard the bathroom door open. I turned around, and my breath caught in my throat. Adishh stood there, half-naked, with just a towel wrapped around his waist. His damp hair clung to his forehead, droplets of water trailing down his well-defined chest. I couldn't help but stare, my jaw dropping slightly.
"Enjoying the view?" he teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
I quickly snapped out of my daze, feeling my cheeks heat up. "I... uh... didn't realize you didn't have spare clothes."
He stepped closer, a smirk playing on his lips. "Didn't think I'd need them. But I don't mind. If it makes you blush like that, I might just stay like this."
I rolled my eyes, trying to play it cool. "Very funny, Adi. Here, let me find something for you to wear."
I rummaged through my closet, finally pulling out an oversized unisex T-shirt and a pair of shorts. "These should do," I said, handing them to him.
He took the clothes but didn't make a move to change. Instead, he leaned against the doorway, his eyes never leaving mine. "You know, you look even more beautiful when you're flustered."
I crossed my arms, trying to maintain a semblance of control. "You're impossible."
"And you love it," he shot back, his voice low and teasing.
I felt a shiver run down my spine at his words. "Maybe," I admitted, trying to keep my voice steady.
He stepped closer, the towel slipping slightly, revealing more of his toned physique. "Just maybe?" he whispered, his breath warm against my ear.
I swallowed hard, feeling a mixture of desire and nervousness. "Adi, this is too much. Tell me, why are you here?" He went inside the room for dress cup, in no second he came back. With slower step he can near me and he gently cupped my face, his thumb brushing against my cheek. "Because I missed you. I want my Adhya back in my life."
His words sent a jolt of electricity through me. "Then why did you let me go?" I asked, lowering my eyes.
He removed his hand from my cheek. "Adhya, dreams are important, but I thought we had plenty of time."
"But for me, you're my dream. I dream about our future, that includes us, Adhya and Adishh, and also our kids. But your words brought insecurity in our relationship in a second. I can't handle all those, Adi," I said, tears forming in my eyes.
He leaned in, his lips just a breath away from mine. "I'm sorry," he murmured, closing the gap between us and kissed me.
I melted into his embrace, my hands finding their way to his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin under my fingertips. I didn't want to break our moment.
His hands roamed over my back, pulling me closer until there was no space left between us. I could feel the heat radiating from his body, the raw desire in his touch. When he finally pulled away, we were both breathless.
"Idiot, why did you kiss me?" I whispered, still catching my breath.
He chuckled softly, his eyes filled with affection and desire. "Because I love you," he replied, his voice husky.
I felt a blush creep up my neck. "Stupid, you're acting like a creep."
He smiled, gently caressing my cheek. "I have something to tell you, Adhya. can we just go for roof top."
I stared at him, shocked. "Why? What there—"
He interrupted me, taking my hand. "I know, but they believe in us, and so do I. Come with me, I want to show you something."
He led me to the rooftop, his hand warm and steady in mine. As we stepped out into the cool night air, my breath caught at the sight before me. The entire rooftop was transformed into a paradise, a blanket of flowers underfoot, their scent mingling with the crisp breeze. Soft lights twinkled around the edges, casting a romantic glow that made everything feel magical.
As I walked forward, I noticed a path of rose petals leading to the center of the rooftop. Each step I took was accompanied by the distant sound of fireworks preparing to ignite. My heart raced, anticipation and love swelling within me.
Adi guided me along the petal-strewn path, his presence calming yet electrifying. When we reached the center, I saw balloons slowly rising into the night sky. They were adorned with tiny lights, creating a trail of shimmering stars. As the balloons ascended, they revealed a message written in delicate script: "Will you marry me?"
Tears filled my eyes, blurring the vision of the beautiful scene. The fireworks erupted in the background, painting the sky with vibrant colors and patterns. It felt like the universe was celebrating this moment with us.
I turned to Adi, his face illuminated by the glow of the fireworks. His eyes, filled with love and vulnerability, met mine. He took a deep breath, his voice steady but laden with emotion.
"Adhya," he began, taking my hands in his. "I've made mistakes, and I've hurt you. But through it all, one thing has remained constant: my love for you. You are my dream, my everything. I don't want to spend another day without you by my side."
He got down on one knee, pulling out a small velvet box. Opening it, he revealed a stunning ring that sparkled even brighter than the fireworks.
"Will you marry me?" he asked, his voice breaking slightly with emotion.
My heart felt like it was about to burst with happiness. The reality of the moment, the genuine love in his eyes, and the thoughtfulness of the surprise made it feel like a dream. Tears streamed down my face, but they were tears of pure joy.
I nodded, without my knowledge
He slipped the ring onto my finger, and I pulled him up into a tight embrace. The world around us faded as he kissed my forehead, sealing the promise of our future together. The fireworks continued to light up the sky, but the real spark was the love between us, reignited and burning brighter than ever.
This moment, under the starlit sky, surrounded by flowers and fireworks, with Adi's heartfelt proposal, was something I would cherish forever. It was a beautiful, tangible expression of our love, one that had weathered storms and emerged stronger. And as we held each other, I knew that this was just the beginning of our new, beautiful chapter together.
