Adishh pov

"I think we should wrap up the party now; it's getting late," Trishul suggested, offering a lifeline I was silently hoping for. The party had its moments, but I was increasingly eager to spend some quiet time with Adhya.

"You're right, bro," I agreed, nodding in approval of his timely intervention.

"It was a great time; we all enjoyed the party. Thank you for everything. We'll split the bill later," Ankitha offered, as she began bidding farewell to everyone. When she reached me, she gave me a quick, unexpected side hug. I could sense Adhya's jealousy spiking—a part of me was amused by it, though I knew I'd be the one to face the music later.

Trishul, ever the peacemaker, hugged Adhya, perhaps in an attempt to diffuse the brewing tension. Then, Ankitha approached Adhya with a probing question, "Are you coming with me?"

"Why would I come with you?" Adhya's response was curt, mirroring the undercurrent of challenge between them.

"Then where will you stay tonight? Here?" Ankitha laughed, her tone laced with sarcasm, believing she'd cornered Adhya into an awkward admission.

"Yes, I will," Adhya retorted with undeniable swagger, dismissing Ankitha's insinuation with ease.

"Are you serious? You stay with your friends," Ankitha pressed, trying to undermine Adhya's standing.

"Sorry, not 'friends.' I'm the one friend here. Adishh is Adhya's boyfriend," Trishul interjected, correcting Ankitha with a clarity that seemed to drain the color from her face. My stance had always been clear, and I had never given Ankitha any hope for more.

With a small nod, Ankitha was about to leave when Adhya stopped her to whisper something in her ear. I couldn't make out the words, but the exchange was brief.

Finally, the apartment was quiet, everyone had left, making it feel more like home again. Adhya went to freshen up, and as usual, she came back wearing one of my T-shirts and her shorts. Just then, the doorbell rang. I opened the door to find Ankitha. In the meantime, Adhya called out from the bedroom, "Adi, why did you change your fabric conditioner? It's not good." She emerged, sniffing the T-shirt she wore, a look of playful accusation on her face.

"I think I left my PG key here, sorry for bothering you," Ankitha said, a bit awkwardly.

Adhya quickly found the key, handed it over to her, and with that, Ankitha left.As soon as she was gone, I closed the door and, without any preamble, grabbed Adhya by the waist, pulling her close for a kiss, my longing overpowering my restraint. But she gently pulled away, a questioning look in her eyes. "I saw someone dancing with Ankitha, and those moves were pretty romantic," she pointed out, her eyebrow arching in challenge.

"Seems my boo sees a reason for jealousy in me," I teased, attempting to lighten the mood.

"Well, you could say that, but it's not jealousy. I simply don't like her," she countered, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Okay then, what if I have an invitation to dinner with her? Should I accept it?" I asked provocatively.

"Absolutely not. Don't even think about it," she responded firmly, her playful demeanor momentarily slipping away.

"And would you label this reaction? It seems awfully like jealousy. I thought I wasn't someone you needed to worry about," I continued, aiming to draw out her true feelings.

"But you're my man," she declared, her voice softening.

"I am your what?" I feigned surprise.

"You're my boyfriend," she confirmed, a touch of earnestness in her voice.

"Oh, I wasn't aware we were defining things," I teased, enjoying the banter between us.

"I don't care about labels; I just need to know you're mine," she stated firmly.

Drawing her closer, I wrapped my arms around her waist. "I don't want anyone to come between us. You need to trust me. If there's ever a reason to take a chance, I will, because I trust you too. Now, weren't we in the middle of something important?" Her smile was all the answer I needed.

With a look of playful confusion, she gazed into my eyes. Without wasting another second, I kissed her, and the kiss deepened into something far more passionate. Unintentionally, my fingers brushed her bare waist, eliciting a soft moan from her as we got lost in the moment, momentarily forgetting everything else.

"I think we should sleep now," she eventually suggested, her voice soft.

"Hmm," I murmured in agreement, lifting her in my arms and carrying her to my room, gently placing her on the bed. I lay down beside her, our faces inches apart.

Leaning in, I kissed her gently, my hands caressing her cheek. The kiss was tender and filled with love, slowly breaking as we looked into each other's eyes. She smiled and turned slightly away, and I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her close. She nestled into me, her hand finding mine and intertwining our fingers.

"I love you," I whispered, unsure if she'd heard.

But she must have, as her hand squeezed mine in response.

Lying there, holding Adhya close, I felt an indescribable peace. The only thing missing was a ring, which I planned to rectify on our next date.

The next morning, as Adhya prepared for the hospital, I offered to drop her, but she mentioned Trishul was already on his way. Reflecting on the previous night's party, I apologized for any misunderstanding."I'm not mad, Adi. It's just that I didn't expect a lie from you. I'm not trying to judge you or control you. We both value our freedom in this relationship. What's important is that we walk the path of trust, loyalty, and faith together," She emphasized the importance of trust, loyalty, and faith in our relationship, and I vowed never to lie again. "I promise I won't lie to you anymore. I love you so much," With a kiss on her forehead and cheeks, we said our goodbyes, the promise of our future together lingering in the air.

"Bye Adi," she said with a smile.

"Okay. Bye," I replied, already missing her presence.
