Adhya's POV:

After breaking the hug, I didn't say a word. I turned and started walking towards the elevator, my heart pounding. The rush of emotions from the proposal still tingled in my veins, but a part of me remained guarded.

Adi followed me silently, his presence a comforting shadow. We stepped into the elevator, and as the doors closed, the intimacy of the small space seemed to amplify the tension between us. Adi took a deep breath and broke the silence.

As the elevator doors closed and we began our descent, Adi broke the silence. "Adhya, there's something else I need to tell you," he said, his voice low and earnest. "Our parents are planning our wedding. That's why I came here to propose to you."

My heart, which had been soaring moments ago, felt a sudden jolt. I turned to him, my eyes narrowing. "Adi, are you serious? You came all this way to propose because our parents are planning our wedding?"

He swallowed hard, realizing his mistake. "I meant, I wanted to propose to you on my own terms, to show you how much I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you."

I gave him a piercing glare, frustration bubbling up. "You should have led with that, Adi. You just know how to ruin the moment, don't you?".

Realization dawned on his face, and he looked genuinely remorseful. "I thought... I wanted to show you how serious I am, how much I love you," he stammered.

The elevator doors opened, and we walked into the flat. I needed to clear my head. "I'm ordering some food," I said curtly, pulling out my phone.

As I set up the table and arranged the dishes, I felt his presence behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close. His lips found the nape of my neck, kissing softly, sending shivers down my spine.

"Adhya, please," he murmured between kisses. "I love you. I'm sorry for everything."

I took a deep breath, steadying my emotions. "Just because I agreed to marry you doesn't mean I've forgiven you," I said, my voice firm.

He stopped kissing me, confusion evident in his eyes as he turned me around to face him. "What do you mean?" he asked, his hands still holding me gently.

"It means," I began, looking straight into his eyes, "that I'm giving you a chance to prove yourself. You hurt me, Adi. You need to earn my trust back.

Adishh's POV:

I felt a lump in my throat as Adhya's words sank in. She was right. I had messed up, and now I had to make things right. I couldn't just expect everything to go back to the way it was.

"I'm sorry," I said, my voice filled with sincerity. "I know I hurt you, and I know it won't be easy to fix things. But I'm ready to do whatever it takes to make it right. I love you, Adhya. More than anything."

She looked at me, her eyes softening just a bit. "Prove it," she said simply, turning back to the table to finish setting up.

The food arrived, and we sat down to eat. The air was thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. I watched her, the way she moved, the way she avoided my gaze. I wanted to reach out, to bridge the gap between us, but I knew it would take time.

After dinner, as we cleaned up, I couldn't resist any longer. I walked up behind her, pulling her into my arms once again. This time, I kissed her with more intensity, my lips seeking hers with a desperate need.

"Adhya," I whispered against her lips, "I will do everything to earn your trust back. I won't let you down again."

She responded to my kiss, her lips softening against mine. The kiss deepened, a mix of passion and promise. Her hands moved to my chest, fingers tracing the lines of my muscles, sending a jolt of desire through me.
