"True champions strive to become better."

The next time I woke up I wasn't sure what time of day it was. There were no windows in the room and I couldn't get up because Trafalgar was still asleep on me. As I waited for him to wake up, I preoccupied myself with looking around the room. For a doctor he sure isn't very organized. Book were scattered around the room, some open and other closed. Single papers littered every available space and the trash bin was over flowing. I was going to need to have a serious talk with him later about cleanliness.

After looking around the room about when seemed like an hour I notice a change in Law's breathing. His eyes were still closed but I knew he was awake. "You aren't tricking anyone, Captain."

"Oh well, it was worth a try." He smirked. He sat up and stretched out with a yawn on his lips. Neither of us spoke for several minutes, we just sat there in silence.

"So what happens now?" I asked. He seemed to think about it for a minute.

"Now? Now, I figure out a way to become a Warlord." His comment threw me off guard. I was expecting many different answers, but that never once crossed my mind.

"You what?" I didn't bother hiding the surprise in my voice. "Why?"

"Why? I suppose the best answer I have is revenge." Now, I pegged Trafalgar as many things. But being the kind of person to go after vengeance was not one of them.

"Who? And why do you need to become a Warlord for it?"

"Every heard of Doflamingo?" he asked, leaning back with a somber expression.

"Doffy?!" I blurted! out. Although, it doesn't surprise me to know that someone would want to kill him.

Now it's Law's turn to be surprised, "You know him?"

"Well, kinda. Shira's the one that spent the most time with him. But that's not the point." The silence began again as he stared at me in bewilderment. "But if you are wanting to become a Warlord like him, you might just have to do something crazy. Because no offense, you aren't nearly as powerful as the average warlord."

"Like what?" he asked, recovering.

"Now that I don't know, but I do know who to ask." I said hesitantly.

Law seemed to know what I was saying because he shook his head. "If she bothers you that much you shouldn't rely on her."

"No, I'm sure she'll be reasonable. After all she does love crazy and carnage." I reassured him. I leaned back and closed my eyes again. I could hear Trafalgar's voice, but couldn't tell what he was saying. All I heard then was her laugh.

"So now you want my help?" her voice sounded as childish as always. "Something crazy enough to get him to be a warlord? Are both of you idiots? Think of the irony of the name of his crew."

"What?" I asked, not understanding her ruddles.

She sighed, and continued as if she were explaining something simple to a child. "They are called the HEART Pirates. Why not just take the hearts of a hundred other pirates?" Before I can talk to her more I'm being pulled from the depths of my mind.

When I opened my eyes again Trafalgar was shaking me. "Hey, captain." I spoke wearily. "I got you an idea."
