Chapter 18

After graduation, Marinette left to study fashion in New York, while Adrien continued his modeling career. As sad at it was for the teens, they decided to visit each other whenever they could.

2 years later

Marinette has been in New York for two years. Her MDA designs were thriving as her first business.
But she decided to go back home. Even though she was in Paris one month ago, she wanted to surprise Adrien with the great news she had just gotten.

As she got to the company, she felt that something wasn't right, but she shrugged it off and walked inside. As she reached Adrien's office, she noticed there was someone else with him . When she opened the door, her whole world came crashing down. She saw as Adrien and Kagami were making out. He had her sitting in his table as he kissed her down her neck. As she moaned that she loved him, and he said the same all Marinette could do was stand there petrified.
She then managed to get some words out.

Marinette: A-A-Adrien, what is t-the m-meaning of t-this?

As they heard her speak, they quickly jumped and broke apart. As she saw the bluenette standing at the entrance looking broken.

...Marinette I promise this isn't what it looks like.

Kagami: Yeah, we can explain. You see, this isn't Adrien he's ...

Marinette: Shut up! Both of you! I came here to surprise you, and I find you with one of my friends fucking in your office! How could you do this to me after everything we've been through?

...Marinette you got it all wrong. I'm not-

Marinette: Oh, so I'm wrong?! You know what I don't want to hear you, neither of you, we are done Adrien, don't you dare come close to me or my family, and forget about the wedding it won't be done you can marry to Kagami for all I care.

With that, she walked off as she took off her engagement ring and left it on the floor. As she did, she grabbed onto her purse and dropped on the floor Adrien's surprise. She got out of the company and turned on the car as she drove off. As she held on to the steering wheel, she couldn't stop crying. Why was this happening? Then she thought of Luka's words from years ago and started to think he was right.
As she was about to grab her phone, she skipped a red light, and the last thing she knew was that a truck was heading her way, and then everything went black.

Adrien's POV:

God, that meeting was boring. Hopefully, now he could go to his office and call Marinette and talk with her for a while. As he arrived, he saw there was something on the floor, an ultrasound? Who could have dropped this? As he entered his office, he saw his cousin and Kagami looking very worried.

Adrien: Hey guys, I'm sorry if you'd been waiting a long time. Oh, by the way, did someone come in? Apparently, whoever it was dropped this ultrasound

As Felix and Kagami saw it, they were even more worried.

Kagami: (gasp) Oh no.

Adrien: What do you mean 'oh no' what's wrong?

Felix: We need to talk.

At the second he heard what Marinette had seen, he didn't even let them finish and grabbed his phone to call her but it went to voicemail.

Adrien: Come on, princess, please pick up.

*It's Marinette. Leave a message beep*

Kagami: We are so sorry Adrien we...

Adrien: It's ok, is not your fault. I gotta go. I need to find her.

And with that, he rushed off the company. As he continued to call her, it went straight to voicemail.

Adrien: Come on, my love pick up, please.

As he tries one more time, his call gets finally picked up.

Adrien :Marinette! Thank goodness listen princess I...wait who are you?

Doctor: Mr. I am Doctor Reyes. I'm from France International Hospital, do you know who miss dupain-cheng is?

Adrien: Yes, she my fiance I am Adrien Agreste is something wrong with her?

Doctor: Mr. Agreste, I'd like it if you could stop by to discuss it.

Adrien: On my way.

As Adrien drove, he had called Tom and Sabine, and also Emily and Gabriel.

When they were all there, Kagami and Felix also arrived, as the doctor talked to Adrien, both of them explained what had happened at the company.

Doctor: So for a miracle she is ok she just had some trouble breathing so we had to intubate her, when she wakes up she will not be able to talk do to the shock but it will pass on quick.

Doctor: Yes, of course.

Adrien rushed into her room, unaware of what the second part the doctor had said to him. He was broken when he saw her linked to so many cables. He felt sick to his stomach.

Adrien: Oh, princess, I'm sorry you have to go through this.

He says as he holds her hand. Two minutes later, she starts to wake up .
As he sees this, he quickly calls a doctor.

Adrien: Oh my god, princess, are you alright? I'm sorry this happened. Marinette, I promise we will get through this together, my love, what you saw in the office, I promise you it wasn't real that was Kagami and Felix. Please, Marinette, you have to believe me. I...

At that moment he stopped talking, he saw as she looked at him like if he was a stranger. As ten minutes passed, which felt like eternity, she finally managed to speak.
