It's been a quiet few months in Riverdale. Spring slid into summer,and some semblance of normal life resumed.

The terrors of the Farm weren't forgotten,but they had started to fade. Gryphons and Gargoyles was already becoming the stuff of suburban legend. Indeed, big topic of conversation around town was July 4th. After some debate,it was decided that there would be an Independence Day parade down Main Street,Riverdale's first in three years. But there would be no fireworks display over Sweetwater River. The Blossoms used to sponsor them,but without their support, town couldn't afford them. Like I said...things had been pretty quiet lately. Enough that I'd actually gotten some real writing done.
In Betty's bedroom
Betty reading it
Betty says to Jughead "It's beautiful. It's a beautiful story,Jug."
Jughead says to Betty " Really? You think it's worth submitting to the contest?"
Berth says to Jughead "No,I think it's gonna win the contest."
Jughead says to Betty " I love you."
Betty says to Jughead "I love you,too."
Jughead kisses Betty on the forehead
In Veronica's bedroom
Veronica says to Archie "Can we just stay in bed forever?"
Archie chuckles
Veronica says to Archie "And if not forever,at least for the day?"
Archie says to Veronica "I would. But don't we have to finish building a float for your big Fourth of July parade?"
Veronica says to Archie "It's not my parade,it's the town's. Pop's is only sponsoring it. Well,if not the day...how about another hour?"
Archie says to Veronica "Hell,yeah."
Veronica says to Archie "Okay,then."
Veronica kisses Archie
In the basement
Cheryl says to Jason's dummy "Good morning,Jay-Jay. Let's see what the hot gossip in town is today. And then we'll do the cross...word."
Cheryl says to herself "What the hell? Over my dead body!"
At Pop's
Bughead and Varchie is working
Cheryl's car tries screech
Cheryl gets out of her car
Cheryl says to gang"Well,well,well..."
Cheryl stamps the door shut
Cheryl says to everyone "Stop the presses. The Riverdale rag finally reported a story accurately. Not only is there going to be some hideous,janky parade snaking its way through town,you four are the architects of this outrage."
Veronica says to Cheryl "What's your problem,Cheryl?"
Cheryl says to Veronica "My problem,Veronica,is that the Fourth of July is a day of tragedy for Riverdale,not celebration. Or have you forgotten what happened to my poor brother Jason."
Betty says to Cheryl "Cheryl,Riverdale hasn't held a parade out of respect for what happened to your brother in...like,years. I think it's time."
Jughead says to Cheryl "I mean...you don't have to come."
Cheryl says to Jughead "Oh,I'll be there,insufferable Smurf. Front and centre. With a sign of protest in one hand and a horn of compressed air to silence any revelry in the other."
Cheryl opens her car door
Cheryl gets in her car and slams her car door shut
Cheryl starts the car engine
Veronica says to the gang "Great."
Cheryl's car tires screech
Cheryl drives off
Jughead says to the gang "Anyone hungry for breakfast?"
In Pop's
Jughead says to the gang "So,camping this weekend,are we still on?"
Veronica says to Jughead "I'm open,but what are we talking about here? Like..."
Betty chuckles
Betty says to Veronica "The woods. But remember,this could...possibly be our last summer to do this because next year we'll be getting ready to go to college."
Jughead says to the gang "And if anyone is scared of bears,well don't be,because Archie's been attacked,like,what,multiple times and still survived?"
Archie says to Jughead "Hey,I wear my scars proudly."

Archie's phone buzzing
Archie answers his phone
Archie says to Fred "Hey,Dad."
Archie stands up
Archie drops his phone
Veronica says to Archie "Archie."
Archie falls to the ground
Jughead,Veronica and Betty walks over to him
Archie looks shocked
In Andrews house,Hallway/Living Room
Vegas whines
Vegas is waiting for Fred to come home
FP is emotional state
Fp says to Archie and Mary "I...I talked to the sheriff up in Cherry Creek. Sounds like...what happened was Fred was...driving home to Riverdale when he..."
Archie is emotional
Fp says to Archie and Mary "He pulled over to help someone whose car had stalled on the side of the road and..."
Mary is emotional
Fp says to Archie and Mary "another vehicle...came up on them way too fast and...And...he was struck by it."
Mary says to Fp (Crying) "No. No."
Mary puts her hand over her mouth
Fp says to Mary "I'm sorry,Mary."
Fp says to Archie "I'm sorry,Archie."
Archie says to Fp "Did the other car stop? The one that...?"
Fp shakes his head
Archie says to Fp "So,it was a hit-and-run."
Fp nods his head
Mary is crying
Archie looks at Mary
Archie says to Fp "We have to find out who did it.We have to catch them."
Fp says to Archie "No,Red. You don't even think about that right now. I'll work with the sheriff's office up in Cherry Creek and make sure all this is taken care of. You understand?"
Fp's voice is breaking
Archie looks at Mary
Archie says to Fp "So,what happens now?"
In Andrews house,kitchen
Woman says to Archie and Mary "Have you decided on a burial or a cremation?"
Mary says to Woman "Burial. There's a plot next to his father,Artie Andrews. Arthur Andrews."
Woman says to Mary "Since we're transporting the body from upstate,there will be an additional cost of $9,000."
Veronica says to Woman "Whatever needs to be done. However much it costs."
Woman says to Mary,Archie and Veronica "The driver that makes these trips for us isn't available until July 5th because of the holiday. Then we'll have the internment on the 6th if that's all right."
Outside of the house
Reggie says to Archie "Hey. You remember that tree house your dad helped us build?"
Jughead says to Archie "You mean the one he built for us?"
Archie says to Reggie "I remember you fell out of it,Reg."
Reggie laughs
Reggie says to Archie "And broke my arm. Your dad drove me to the hospital."
Reggie chuckles
Betty says to the gang "I remember this one time...This time,we were having a picnic when we were still in grade school in Pickens Park,and there was a father-daughter potato-sack race. My dad...I don't know where he was,but Mr.Andrews said that he would do it with me. So,he was...He was my dad for the day."
Jughead says to the gang "When things started getting bad with my dad and drinking,my mom would call up Fred...for help. And he would drive to the bar, he would pick up my dad and he'd lay him on the couch. But he'd always stay a little while. Just to talk to me. To see how I was doing in school and...if I had eaten dinner. He just wanted to know if I was hungry. I always was."
Jughead smiles
Betty laughs
Veronica says to Archie "Your dad was such a gentleman,Archie."
Kevin tears up
Kevin says to the gang "He was the best. He built and donated all the sets for the musicals."
Tears rolls down Archie's cheeks
Veronica says to Archie "You don't have to,but...do you have any memories you wanna share?"
Archie says to the gang "I remember going to...Going to Sears with him. Just so I could ride the tractors."
Archie smiles
Archie says to the gang "He taught me everything. Taught me how to play football and baseball. Pretty much every other sport. We fixed up the...The jalopy together. He bought me my first guitar. He even soundproofed the garage just so..."
Archie stand up
Veronica says to Archie "Hey. Archie."
Archie says to Veronica "I'm good. I just..."
Archie says to the gang "I'm wiped out,you guys. Can we call it a day?"
Veronica says to Archie "Yeah."
Archie walks off
In Archie's bedroom

Archie gets out of bed
Archie walks downstairs
Archie says to Artie "Grandpa Artie?"
Artie turns around
Artie says to Archie "Archie. Everyone's waiting. Where's your dad? I thought...I thought he was already with you."
Artie says to Archie "No. No. Come see for yourself."
Artie walks away
In the living room
Archie says to everyone "Where's Dad?"
Artie says to Archie "Archie...you were supposed to get him."
Archie wakes up
Archie panting
Veronica wakes up
Veronica says to Archie "Archie?"
Archie says to Veronica "I have to go get my dad."
Veronica says to Archie "What? What do you mean?"
Archie says to Veronica "I have to bring him home."
