The pair sat down on the couch and turned on the TV without saying anything but just leaning on each other. It was comfortable silence but it was exactly what the duo needed: silence and comfort.

After his panic attack, there were no words spoken between them. She didn't know what he was thinking but she knew that she felt internally guilty. He didn't have to say that the way that she left him prior to this wrecked him, she could tell by his album written mostly about her.

She twiddled with the pendant on her neck as she leaned on him, was she a bad girlfriend? Flying around the States with him was a big commitment but she felt like she was doing something wrong. Why was their spark fading?

Laney knew she wanted to be the one for him, in fact, she knew that she was the one for him. He knew that he wanted her as the one. So why was this so difficult?

"I'm going to go to bed," Laney finally said at 8 PM.

She wasn't tired but overthinking was going to wear her out and drive her crazy. Despite it being too early to sleep, she wanted a way to shut her brain off for awhile, and this was going to have to do it.

He nodded following her as the pair typically brushed their teeth together and changed together. It was done more in silence in recent days but today the silence was unsettling.

Laney changed and went into bed first as Morgan changed. She turned to face away from the bathroom as she began scrolling mindlessly through her phone. Soon after, the bed dipped a little indicating that he was there.

She turned and faced him, "Morgan-"

"Laney-"

The two blankly stared at each other.

"I know you're stressed. You're the one people are paying to see. I should have been more considerate before speaking. We just haven't spoken to each other really in awhile," she mumbled quickly.

He grabbed her and pulled her in close giving her a kiss on the cheek, "You've always treated me normally and it's one of the reasons that I love you so much, you'll always keep me here. In our safe space and in our own world. We need a Laney and Morgan day before the tour".

Laney smiled at him, "I would love that".

She gave him a little kiss before speaking again, "Can we have a farm?".

He chuckled, "A farm?"

"Yeah with a goat and chickens"

"Who will feed them?"

"Me"

"We are leaving for a few months"

"I'll stay or come back every few weeks"

"Or we could wait until I retire"

"You will never retire," she huffed.

"One day we will both be able to live here with no worries though," he said poking her randomly.

"I think we should get a dog or something," she said messaging his hair, "Ooo a cat?".

"Laney?"

"Yeah"

"Go to bed"

If there was one thing she could do it was yap. She closed her eyes and smiled, tomorrow would be THEIR day.

When she woke up she heard Morgan yelling on the phone out in the living room. She groaned and closed her eyes after seeing the clock read 8 A.M. It was way too early.

She didn't try to listen but his voice went straight through the walls as he spoke.

"Im tellin you it's my tour so I'm sayin NO. I aint adding more shows".

So this is what it was about.

"Yall never give me a fuckin— yes. Understood sir".

She heard him start pacing around and debated on pretending to be asleep or not for a moment, but he was clearly stressed. He approached the door and let out a big sigh when he saw Laney looking at him with her Bambi eyes, "Sorry".

She shook her head, "Are you okay?".

"No".

"Do you want to talk about it?".

"No, let's just go back to bed," he said climbing into bed and facing her.

She nodded placing a kiss on his lips and looking him in the eyes, "I love you".

"I love you".
