When she woke up, Morgan was kissing her cheeks gently.
"Good morning baby, you need to get ready. I need to go to rehearsal. I'll see you soon," he said.
"Can you cuddle?"
"I'm already out of bed," he chuckled as she groaned in discontent.
She heard his footsteps trail off and the door shut as she got up and stretched. Excitement flooded her veins rather than the previous feelings of anxiety. The start of the new normal.
It was definitely a little early for her to get ready, but she didn't mind. After showering, she opted for a denim top and a brown mini skirt with some thigh high boots, it seemed a little dramatic though. Trading in her boots for some sneakers, she put her hair in a ponytail and began her makeup.
This would be her first time putting names to faces and she was giddy. FaceTiming Lauren, she hoped she would pick up.
"Heyyy," Lauren smiled in the kitchen.
"Heyy im getting ready for the first show and thought of you. How are things?" she asked.
"Pretty good, I think we are going to come to the third or fourth show... I can't remember but the kids have a babysitter. I'm making some cookies for their school, it's some potluck," Lauren explained showing her the baking sheets she had lined up, "How has tour been?"
"I was super anxious but now I'm excited. I really hope you come soon, we are going to have a blast. What kind of cookies are you making?"
"Sugar because of chocolate allergies. I'm so excited to see you and to have a break! What's the fit?"
Laney panned the camera to show Lauren her outfit.
"I love it! To be honest, I'm going to go, I'm not feeling good," Lauren suddenly frowned.
"What's wrong?" Laney asked.
Lauren hesitated before answering, "I think I got food poisoning from a burger at the bar when Thomas and I went for drinks".
Laney nodded, "Feel better, I will text you soon!".
With that, the girls hung up and Laney went back to continuing her makeup. Would he send a golf cart for her? How would she get in and out? There were a lot of unanswered questions that she should have asked Morgan, but things happen. She didn't think about any of this up until now. And once again, her anxiety kicked in.
"Ok deep breath, you can't freak out" Laney told herself as her anxiety slowly crept in. It wasn't normal for her to be anxious and she wasn't about to be anxious on the first night.
Staring at herself in the mirror, she took a picture of her outfit and posted it on her Instagram story: show one 🤍 @|morganwallen
Then she decided to text Bean.
Laney: hey, so I'm in the bus and ready for the show. what do i do?
Laney walked towards the front of the bus and peered in the drivers seat to see him gone as well. She was about to open the door but realized it would have been left unlocked and that would be bad.
Bean: Coming in a cart
Laney sighed with relief as she waited for Bean to show up. Just a few minutes later, there he was. He motioned for her to come down and Laney walked up to him.
