When Laney woke up, she was in the plane seat with her makeup smudged all over her face and her head was pounding. Before she could even look for Morgan, her search was answered by the sound of a toilet flushing and the door opening.
"I blacked out," Laney groaned making Morgan laugh.
"You tried to sleep with me and you were saying all kinds of things: from what you wanted to eat, fun facts, and I don't even know. Then I went to get us food and you were wiped," Morgan explained.
Laney nodded running to the bathroom and slamming the door behind to throw up. To say she felt gross was an understatement. Brushing her teeth and removing her makeup, she walked back to Morgan.
"Laney, do you want to change?" Morgan asked as she sat in his lap.
Laney looked down at her set from last night and nodded, "I'm tired".
"We are going to a hotel in Indiana don't worry," he said unzipping her top from the back from her.
She just stayed silent as the nauseating feeling was creeping up on her. She heard Morgan open up a soda and crackers for her which she silently yet slowly devoured, the plane around her was spinning.
"Babe?"
"Yeah?"
"I think I'm still drunk," Laney whined, "Don't be mad".
Morgan sighed rubbing her back and giving her a kiss.
She left her top on the floor and started unzipping her skirt as Morgan handed her a shirt for her to wear, specifically his merchandise.
"I've never looked better," she half-smiled putting it on and making him laugh.
"Lane you need pants," he chuckled throwing her sweatpants.
She ran to the bathroom to throw up one last time before coming back out, "I'm never drinking again".
"You say that now. Are you ready for Indy? One day break and a two-night show," he reminded her.
After tugging the pants on, she sat down in a chair drinking some water, "I cannot wait for Indiana right now. How are you not hungover?".
"Well... you did have five to six drinks and three rounds of shots. Plus you drank at the concert. I had two drinks shockingly enough until that guy tried to dance with you... and then I had a beer," he recalled the night.
Laney had forgotten about the guy she splashed a drink on and singing with Thomas, but it was coming back to her as he mentioned it, making her turn red in embarrassment.
"I want to crawl in a hole," she whispered as she curled herself into a ball and closed her eyes.
When she opened her eyes, the sound of the wheels hitting the runway was the first thing she noticed. She felt resurrected from her drunkness but just wanted to relax. Morgan was already grabbing bags and motioned to Laney to come to him.
When the plane door opened, Morgan handed the bags to Bean and walked in front of Laney to the car as she slowly followed. It was a gloomy and rainy day but luckily there was no show until tomorrow. The rain was sprinkling but as she opened the weather app she saw heavy rain and lightning.
"Where is the hotel?" she asked Bean as he opened the car door for her.
"It's an AirBnb," Bean stated before closing the door.
She looked at Morgan for an explanation who just shrugged his shoulders. Was it because fans would try to find him at a hotel?
Laney looked out the window as they drove through downtown Indianapolis... it wasn't the prettiest. But the city soon turned into cornfields, and it somewhat reminded Laney of home. As they went straight for what seemed to be miles, they finally took a right on a rubble path until they reached a cabin-looking home.
