The stitches were evident and luckily there was minor scarring, but the scars bothered Laney. She didn't feel pretty. There was still some temporary discomfort and pain but the doctors had prescribed her with topical cream and pain medication.

"You'll probably need to help her in the shower. She should be on bed rest for the next three days," the nurse told Morgan who looked like he barely got any sleep.

Just like that, she was being discharged. Katie had sent Laney flowers but those flowers were in the trash from Morgan and replaced by a beautiful bouquet from him instead.

Pain medicine had numbed her up but she still felt pain regardless. Morgan held her hand tightly as they walked together to the truck, "You're so beautiful".

She shot him a glare out of tiredness, "Don't lie".

"We are going to bundle up. I canceled my next show. It's just you and I," he kissed her hand.

"Morgan no. You have to go," she scolded him.

"No Laney," he shook his head, "I want to be with you. Josh is lucky I'm not beating him to a pulp".

Laney sighed, "It was an accident".

"I know but what if that was Indy?" he asked, "You are the most important person in that room to me, but Indy could have died".

He made a point. As they approached the truck, Morgan opened the door for her and waited for her to slowly get in before closing the door and rushing to the driver's side. The car ride home was silent and after he parked, he helped her get out of the passenger side. As they walked into the house, Laney paused and saw the remainder of the coffee table with its jagged edges remaining.

Morgan followed her gaze to the table, "I'm getting rid of that. Let's get you to bed," as he held her arm.

They both looked unwell as their sleep deprivation had caught up to them. Leading her into the bed, he gave her his sweatshirt and some shorts to change into. As she changed she couldn't help but notice the stitches and small cuts spotted on her body.

"I shouldn't have told you to reconcile with her. I am so sorry," she whispered as tears began pouring down her face.

"You have nothing to be sorry for. I love you so much. You just try to see the good in everything and everyone," he gently stroked her head and held her close.

When she woke up, the front door had opened and it was 2 PM the next day. Pain radiated through her legs and she winced in pain to sit up. Morgan's head peeked in with his knuckles grasping the bedroom door, and his knuckles were split open.

Her eyes widened as he tried to distract her with a smile, "I got rid of the table!".

"I could have helped. Can you put my medicine on me," she groaned trying to move.

He grabbed the topical ointment and slathered it on her legs and back making her legs sting but causing a sense of relief at the same time.

"Do you want some company? Maybe Lauren?" he asked scratching her head for her.

"I wouldn't mind," she shrugged shyly, "I'm sorry babe but I'm not cooking".

He nodded knowingly, "Steak".

She went to the closet to grab a long-sleeved black shirt and some beige cargo pants. Doing her makeup and curling her hair, she felt prettier and better in no time.

She walked into the living room making Morgan let out a low whistle as he handed her a glass of wine while he put the steak in the fridge. Grinning she gave him a quick kiss before going to get to the front door. As if on cue, Thomas and Lauren walked in with flowers in hand and a get-well card.
