When she woke up, she heard his voice radiate through the house from his little studio room and a guitar followed it with someone else's voice. It was only two more days until it was time to hit the road. She intently listened as she heard another woman's laugh in the house. What the fuck?

She got up to brush her teeth while contemplating what to say to him. She felt uncomfortable in the house, for a moment she remembered it was his house and not their house. Beads of sweat formed on her face from frustration and she felt drained emotionally and physically. She didn't even want to go on the tour.

Walking out into the kitchen, she put a face to the woman. His mom. She was stupid for overwhelming herself but she couldn't help it after the events of last night. Instant relief flooded her face as Morgans's laughter simmered down once he caught a glimpse of her, it was evident there was tension between the two of them.

"Laney darling how are you?"

"I'm good! How are you? I would've been out here and cooking if I knew you were coming," Laney gave his mom a hug.

She returned the hug before looking between the two of them, "I brought cookies. Excited for the tour?".

"Thrilled!" Laney exclaimed trying to conceal her distaste.

"I'll miss you both. Take care of my boy for me Laney. If he is causing you any issues, you have me," she winked.

"Are you leaving?" Laney asked confused.

"Ma has a doctor's appointment," Morgan replied hugging his mom goodbye for the last time in a while.

Laney just nodded as she gave them their space, opening the patio door for some air and stepping outside. This wasn't the way she wanted to enter going into tour.

Lauren: How are you doing? Tour is soon

Laney: Funny timing, I'm nervous about this! It's a lot to take in

Lauren: It may be weird at first but remember that you're going for him. He is going to be so glad you are there for him. It gets easier day by day realizing you'll get to stay home for awhile after it's over

Laney: That's a good way to look at it. How are you?

Laney heard Morgan's footsteps approach and she turned around to face him. By surprise, he hugged her, "Let's just go into this with being happy. I'm sorry".

She smiled. His mom definitely had said something and even though he didn't explicitly state what he was sorry for, this would be enough.

Laney hugged him back and looked at the lake in the yard, she was going to miss the peace and quiet of it all. He broke their embrace and held her, following her gaze towards the lake, and holding her hand.

He began to walk tugging her along as she quickly began to walk barefoot with him, seemingly towards the lake. "I'm going to miss this," Laney said to him as they approached the dock.

"Me too... do you see that?" Morgan pointed at the water.

"See wha-" Laney began to ask, but her question was answered by the cold water hitting her face from the lake.

She began laughing when she emerged from under and pulled something green off her face as Morgan buckled over laughing.

She tried pulling herself up but couldnt budge, "Babe help".

He extended a helping hand, crouching down, and she tugged him in sending him flying. When he emerged he was red from embarrassment as it was her turn to laugh.
