"Emily...Emily...Emmillyyy...EMILY!"
I let out a gasp as I shot up from my bed. My breathing was heavy and I was in a panic as I looked around the room. I was able to quickly see the curtains drawn around my four poster bed. I looked down and saw the familiar red sheets and sighed in relief. It was just a nightmare.
I leaned over to my nightstand and checked my alarm clock to see that it was six in the morning. I groaned. I was due to be up in fifteen minutes so what was the point of trying to sleep? It was good in its own way, though. I hadn't slept for five hours in one night in a long time.
I quietly leaned over and pulled open the curtains on the right side of my bed. I then stood up and walked over to the window that was right next to me. I sat on the sill of the window and looked out. The wind was howling and the trees were whipping back and forth. The rain came down sideways in sheets. The thunder made the whole castle shake and I wouldn't be shocked if it woke up at least half the castle. The lighting was so bright and blinding, as if Colin was taking another picture of me. I looked out hopelessly. How were we supposed to play in these conditions? I leaned my head back against the window and sighed. Today was going to be rough. I then stood up and changed out of my pajamas and into some everyday clothes. I then grabbed my broom and walked out of my dormitory. As I walked down the steps, I yawned and rubbed my eyes, already exhausted from what I knew was going to be a long day ahead. The sound of the storm being worse upon stepping into the Common Room made it so I couldn't stop thinking about how miserable I was going to be on the field."Em?" I stopped rubbing my eye and looked over to the couch. Sitting there, looking right at me, was Harry. I froze at the sight of my boyfriend.
"Harry, what are you doing down here?" I asked. I thought I was up and ready early. Harry looked like he had been up for a while.
"Storm woke me up and I couldn't sleep." He told me. I nodded. "I was just about to go down for breakfast if you wanted to join me."
"I'd like that." I told him, a smile on my face. Harry smiled back at me before picking up his broom and holding his other hand out to me. I grabbed it, interlocked our fingers, and we walked out of the portrait hole.
"Stand and fight, you mangy curs!" Sir Cadogan shouted at us.
"Shut up!" Both Harry and I yelled back. We then looked at each other with shocked expressions on our face, not expecting to both yell the same thing. After staring at each other for a few seconds, we both began to laugh and made our way to the Great Hall.
When we walked inside, I saw that there were very few people in the Hall. Harry and I sat down next to each other and began to grab some of the food on the table. We ate and talked, just enjoying our time together. Just as we started talking about the weather outside and the upcoming match, the rest of the team came down into the Hall."It's going to be a rough one." Oliver said as he continued to avoid eating.
"Stop worrying, Oliver," Angelina told him. "We don't mind a bit of rain."
The only problem was it was more than a bit of rain. After the whole team had finished their breakfast, we headed down to the locker rooms. As we walked and made it towards the locker rooms, I watched as other students who were going to watch ran towards the stands. Most wore raincoats and had umbrellas, but both were virtually useless. After we all changed, we met up and sat to wait for Oliver to deliver the usual pre-game speech. Oliver came out of the boys changing area and looked at all of us. He opened his mouth to try and say something, but nothing would come out. He tried twice more before giving up and waving for all of us to follow him. We all followed behind as Oliver led us to the field. As soon as I stepped onto the pitch, the wind hit me and I took a few unintentional steps to the right.
