Clashing waves: a love story

Breakfast

The 118 after Steve and Evie left.

After Steve and Evie leave the 118, Maddie, Athena and Karen lose their patients with the 118.
Athena is the first one to turn her glare on the four remaining members of the 118.

"Look what the four of you have done!! You have chased that girl away and for what? Your bruised egos?" Athena glares at Eddie at the last part.

"My sister is leaving LA because of you all. Howie don't bother coming home." Maddie says

"You either Henrietta." Karen says with arms crossed.

"But-" Hen and Chim both try to defend themselves but Karen and Maddie won't hear it.

"My baby sister would rather get shot at then come back here, that says a lot in itself. Howie if you want any chance with me you better make up with Evie tomorrow night." Maddie says hands on her hips.

"Henrietta, you apologize to that girl, you make this right or you're on the couch for the foreseeable future." Karen says

"Oh and Eddie." Maddie says Eddie looks up at her as she continues "I'll be telling Abuela and Tia Peppa what you've done."

Eddie pales at that and starts to argue but Athena loses it.

"I can't even look at the works of you right now." Athena state.

" 'Thena" Bobby tries.

"Don't. Don't you dare 'Thena me when you drove that poor girl away. I'll never forgive you for this." Athena says angrily.

"I was trying to protect her!" Bobby states.

"Well in doing so you drove her away." Athena yells, throwing her hands up.

"We will do everything in our power to get Buck to at least keep in contact with us." Athena says
Eddie speaks then.

"You're just gonna let her go to Hawaii with that, That goon?" Eddie asks

"Yes Edmundo I am, because one, she's a grown ass woman and two the works of you have done enough by interfering in her life." Athena states and Eddie stiffens at the use of his full name.

Athena glares at them then she leaves, Karen and Maddie following her.

Maddie catches up to Athena and asks "are we really going to let her go with him?" Maddie asks

Athena sighs as she says "I'm going to run a check on him and we will go from there. If he is who he says he is and he runs the governors task force then he has to be at least good at his job, so I don't know. Maddie the 118 has really messed everything up."

Maddie nods in agreement.

"Okay." She simply says

The next morning with Steve and Evie

Steve's POV

Steve wakes up the next morning to the sun trickling into Evies loft. He rubs a hand over his face. He looks down to the mess of blonde curls on his chest, his angel. The love of his life. He has tried over the last four and a half years to get over her, but no one stuck. No one was his angel.

Evie has always held a special space in his heart. When Steve saw the news a little over a year ago, and saw Evie was being crushed by a fire truck, he was thrown back to the day she was crushed by the humvee.

He remembered the ache in his heart as he thought he lost her, that he failed her. So Steve could understand where Captain Nash was coming from, not wanting to lose Evie, but something Steve realized a long time ago was she could take care of herself.  And she could.
