"You're no longer grounded; I believe you've learned your lesson. Prove me wrong, and you'll be grounded twice as long next time, mister," my mother scolded, though the facade immediately faded as she held me in her arms.

"I know how it feels not having dad around all the time, but just cope with me, alright?"

"Alright," I said, relieved by the fact that I was ungrounded but knowing I couldt just cope with his absence.

"Can you tell Ronin to come fetch his washing? Also, I've heard your school trip starts next Friday," she said while cleaning up the dishes.

"School trip?" I raised my eyebrow, not having a clue what she was talking about.

"I'm surprised you don't know. What did you think all those charity events were for? Your grade and the twelfths will be going to Stonepine," she explained.

"Stonepine, the capital city," I thought on my way to leave the kitchen.

"Last thing," my mom wore a warm smile, bringing her head to my ear as she whispered. "I noticed you and Ronin are pretty close nowadays. What happened to 'I barely know the guy'?" she snorted.

"Yeah yeah, whatever," I chuckled, my cheeks flushing red.

"Ronin, did you know about this trip?" I slid open the kitchen door, which led to the backyard.

There he was, back floating in the swimming pool, bare-chested, wearing black swim shorts. Upon hearing me, he slowly climbed out of the pool. Time slowed as his wet body left the pool, and I couldn't help but stare at him.

"The trip, yeah, you didn't know about it?" he asked, grabbing a towel off the pool chair and wiping his face.

"Wait, what did you say?" I broke from the trance.

"I asked if you heard about the trip," Ronin came closer, his wet figure towering over me. Before I could react, he had a hold of me, plunging me into the pool. "How dare you," I snorted, wiping the water from my eyes. Despite the playfulness of the situation, I always felt irked wearing wet clothes.

"Cannonball!" Ronin yelled out, jumping into the pool, causing makeshift tsunami waves. I found myself submerged again, gasping for air when I resurfaced.

But when I came to, I felt Ronin's hands around my waist as I instinctively wrapped my legs around him. Our wet bodies together felt good. I looked up, and our eyes met as I gently placed my hand on his chin.

"Fuck, we probably shouldn't be doing this where my mom can find us," I said, embarrassed.

*

"Haha, yeah, you're right," Ronin snorted as he pulled my face towards his for a swift kiss.

"Hey, weren't you upset about being exposed not so long ago?" I chuckled.

"I couldn't resist; you looked so kissable," Ronin scoffed as we both got out of the pool.

The next school morning arrived as both the grade 11 and 12 classes were called to the assembly hall. Entering, I noticed William's return, fussy as usual, surrounded by his posse. I always hated the assembly hall; it was plastered with cheesy quotes and always freezing, maybe because it was painted black and permanently had the AC on.

"Welcome everyone, you've gathered here on the grounds of the trip to Stonepine. We're just going to set some ground rules", the principal announced wearing her iconic Lesbain haircut.

Mr green stepped forward letting out a few coughs to adjust his voice, making it deeper as usual. "Firstly there'll be several rooms which can fit 5 people also guys and girls cannot share a room.

"What a bummer", I smirked, quickly glancing at Ronin.

"Aslong as we don't share room with William that's good enough", James whispered.

"No alcohol or drugs obviously", Mr green stated alongside a bunch of other rules which were common sense.

*

"There's been rumours of certain video clips floating around. Once we found out who made and sent it around prepare to face consequences", the principal announced in a tone colder than the room. The entire room fell silent.

"Also don't forget about the winter ball, which takes place right after the trip", Mr green added.

The assembly was finally called off as everyone left for their classes, yet before I left the room someone grabbed my shoulder. "I heard you stepped up yesterday", a deep voice echoed behind me.

"Yeah what about it William?", I said in annoyed tone. I didn't have patience or tolerance for him anymore.

"No I don't have a problem I'm so proud you finally made yourself more of us, I guess my inspirational words finally reached that thick skull of yours, keep it up", he wore that smirk of his patting me on the back.

I stayed silent, I was on the verge of getting a life sentence, but luckily he decided to shutup and leave.

I made it to bio class, the only class I had with Ronin besides languages. There was no James or Evelyn just me and him.

"What took you?", Ronin asked as I sat down.

"I had to go piss, uh hey you mentioned a video when you spoke to Mia could that be it-

"No, it was a bluff", he said immediately.

"Alot of people have asked me about it already, what a coincidence though that there's actually one floating around.

"Aren't you worried?", I mean someone might report you just because they didn't get the clarification that it was a bluff", I said In a concerned tone.

"Not really I'll give them my phone, they'll find nothing, Ronin scratched his chin. It must be really serious based on how Mia reacted the other day and now in the assembly hall.

"Hmm it's not our business anyways", I said nonchalantly yet the fear of someone reporting Ronin still remained made my stomach turn.

I left the classroom to go relief myself while Washing my hands I heard 2 familiar voices outside. Out of curiosity I peeked around the corner. It was James and Elliott.

"They're holding hands?", I thought aloud.

"Since when'd you become a stalker Liam", Evelyn's words echoed behind me startling me.

"Did you know about them?", I whispered.

"Them?, what are you talking about-
She peaked her around the corner her eyes widened.
