It was 3AM as Josie laid awake stared at the ceiling, hearing as Wendy silently slept. She looked over at her then back at the ceiling, she took a deep breath as she got up and walked out to the balcony, thinking as she looked at the stars.
'Why did I say those words, how could I have promised something like that, I'm such an idiot.' Josie was stuck between what she actually wanted and what she thought she wanted.
Josie stood outside watching Wendy sleep as she kept on thinking. 'I want to love you Wendy, it would be so easy to just love you.' She walked towards her as she said.
"But who are we kidding, your heart belongs to Maya and mine belongs to Hope." She lightly caressed her cheek so as to not wake her. "I will keep my promise to you, and when you're finally ready to see the truth, we will face it together, because I know they will be waiting for us."
Josie stood up and changed, she grabbed her car keys and headed out, she drove for a long time until she arrived at a white house. Josie got out and walked up the porch and sat at the top next to Maya.
Maya opened a beer and handed it to Josie. Josie took it as she took a drink. "Can't say I wasn't expecting you." Maya said as she set her beer down and faced Josie. "What do you need Josie?."
Josie took another drink and said. "I'm here to understand you, to know who you are Maya, and I won't judge." Maya looked at Josie and nodded, then she began.
"My father, well he was a really bad guy, the worst, driven by anger and revenge, he hated the Mikalsons, he wanted to be more powerful, my mother was always stopping him, always trying to change him."
Maya paused as she continued. "But one day she was too weak, so my dad took advantage of that and struck her dead right in front of me. I was so mad, so angry, but that's exactly what he wanted."
"Because as long as I was filled with anger, I was weak, we were stronger than him, and he couldn't have that, because then he would have someone else messing his plans up. But I was a coward to fight back, I knew that I was strong enough, but I just couldn't."
Maya sighed as she whipped her tears. "Wendy was right, I was always looking for his approval, always wanting him to be proud of me, that I willingly gave up, I didn't fight for my mother or my family. She has every right to hate me."
Josie was silent for a while until she finally said. "You're not the bad guy Maya, none of us are we all made mistakes. And it's time to make everything right, your father was a bad man, that doesn't mean you have to be like him, you have the ability to choose your own path, so choose me better."
Maya looked at Josie and said. "What do you mean? How? It to late." Josie chuckled and said "Maya you have fucked up a lot, but I know Wendy loves you, don't loose her, she's at my family's mansion, I'm sure you know the way, fight for her, and fight for Amy as well."
Josie got up, ready to leave but she stopped and turned around. "I made a promise to her that I would never leave her, that I will always be there for her and Amy, will you allow me to keep that promise?." Josie extended her hand.
Maya looked at her then at her hand for a while, and finally shook it as she said. "Thank you Josie." Josie smiled and began to walk to her car but stopped when she heard. "Jo, where are you going?."
Josie smiled and said. "To get my girl, you should do the same." With that she got in her car and drove away.
