FOUR DAYS LATER, robin was at her next destination- texas. she was performing in a bar in dallas, and the place was packed. texas was definitely a lot more popular than indiana.
she was on stage currently, and had been for over an hour at this point. she had one last song to do, then she was done on stage.
"you guys have been incredible tonight," robin smiled, scanning the crowd. "everyone really means it when they say everything's bigger in texas"
the crowd cheered and robin laughed into the microphone.
"i'm really sad that i only have one song left to do for you guys, but i have a suprise. instead of doing my song on the setlist, star catcher, would you all like to hear a song i wrote a couple days ago?"
the crowd cheered loudly, and robin smiled. she walked towards the side of the stage, where steve met her with an acoustic guitar. she headed back to the microphone, which still stood in the center of the stage.
"so," she started, putting the strap around her body, "this song doesn't have like actual music yet. i wrote it in my hotel room with my guitar, and thought it sounded cool. but it might be a little bit awkward for me because nobody else knows this song except me"
she started having second thoughts about performing her new song. she was still trying to overcome her stage fright. normally, it was fine, because everyone else was singing along with her. this time, however, it would be only her.
she glanced over at steve for reassurance, and he nodded at her. she understood him mouth 'you got this', which gave her a bit of confidence. she looked back at the crowd, who was cheering for her, and took a deep breath.
"okay," she let her breath out. "this is my new song, loss of you. i hope it doesn't like...suck"
she looked down at her guitar and started plucking the strings. she played a slow, soft tune. the first twenty-six seconds was just music, which was setting the emotional mood for the song.
in the garden of love, we planted seeds
but now it's barren, choked with weeds
your smile once lit up my sky
but now it's darkness, i wonder whyyou went back to her, like a moth to a flame,
leaving me lost in this endless game
i'll move on, find someone new
but right now, all i feel is the loss of youshe played the guitar for a few seconds, letting only the music be heard.
i was the sunshine in your cloudy day
but you still chose her familiar ways
i gave my all, but it wasn't enough,
now all i have left is the memories of us.you went back to her, like a moth to a flame,
leaving me lost in this endless game.
i'll move on, find someone new
but right now, all i feel is the loss of youonce again, robin stopped singing and only played the guitar. at this point, she could feel her eyes begin to water up.
i'll write the rest of our story
in the stars above,
a tale of what could have been
you chose her over me, i understand
but the pain still lingers like shifting sanda couple tears fell down her cheeks, but she continued to play.
you went back to her, like a moth to a flame,
leaving me lost in this endless game
i'll move on, find someone new,
but now, right now, all i feel is the loss of youshe finished the song by letting the guitar slowly fade, and the audience loved it. they screamed and clapped, and robin smiled. she wiped a couple tears away and took a small bow.

almost a full twenty-four hours later, nancy recieved a text from summer. she was at izzy's place, and had been for almost three full days at this point. they were laying in bed next to each other, looking through apps their phones.
summer was still clueless about everything that had happened. nancy told her that her and robin stopped talking, but she didn't tell her the real reason. she also hadn't told her about her and izzy, but that was because she already knew how summer would react.
nancy checked her text to see summer sent her a link to a video, as well as a message that only contained a question mark. nancy clicked on the video, a puzzled look on her face. it took her to tiktok, and the video started playing.
nancy's blood ran cold when she heard the voice on the video. it was a voice she knew distinctly, one she could never forget. robin.
it was a video from her concert the night before, performing a song. nancy paused the video before she could hear any of the words, and swiped out of the app completely. she glanced over at izzy out of the corner of her eye, but izzy was in her own world.
"i'll be right back," nancy said, getting up and heading towards izzy's bathroom. she closed the door behind her and let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in.
she played the video quietly, listening to the lyrics. as the song hit the bridge, she couldn't help the tear that escaped her eye.
when it ended, she stared at the screen as it began to replay. she was frozen, mouth hanging open. she felt terrible. she didn't mean to make robin feel this way, but izzy had told her they could work...
she didn't know how to explain this to summer. summer wasn't stupid, she could hear the lyric 'you went back to her'. she would know that nancy was back with izzy, and she'd be mad.
nancy was starting to regret getting back with izzy. she'd already hurt robin, and now she could lose summer too.
but it was izzy. nancy was only a puppet, and izzy was the master.
