I woke up the next morning and my whole head was pounding. several people had chosen to stay over to sleep, but I have no idea how they all got a place. Lando had been allowed to sleep in my room after he had fallen asleep much earlier than everyone else.
I slowly got up and went to the bathroom to take a cold shower. after I felt a little fresher I stepped out and changed into other clothes and did my skin care and brushed my teeth. when I finished in the bathroom, I went out and saw that some people were sitting in the kitchen and started to eat breakfast. I went there and said good morning and took some water.
"how did you all fit in the living room" I asked.
"Alex and Lily took the air mattress, Logan and Oscar fell asleep on the couch and I fell asleep on the floor" Danny explained complaining of a sore back.
"who are sleeping up there?"
"I think Pierre, Max and Carlos and all the others went home"
Blurred images fluttered through my mind as I tried to collect my thoughts. The alcohol had enveloped us like a thick fog, and I could almost feel its hold on my senses. Max and I had allowed ourselves to be swept away by its seductive dance, and it was hard to ignore the tingling tension between us. But my heart was beating fast as I thought about what had happened. I didn't really know what Max was feeling or thinking about all of that. Maybe it was best not to bring it up and just leave it at that, at least for now.
I heard the heavy footsteps coming down the stairs from upstairs and for a moment I thought the person was going to lose their balance and fall considering how slippery the steps sounded. Once he entered the room I realized it was Max. Our eyes met briefly and intensely before he settled down next to Danny.
Soon Max was followed by Carlos and Pierre, and we formed a united group around the table. The conversation flowed easily and we laughed about memories from yesterday. It seemed that everyone had a good time at the party and that those who had not visited the house before appreciated its charm. I was told that some of them had even ventured out for a late night dip in the pool, which had us all laughing and reminiscing about the crazy moments from the night before.
My heart pounded as the conversation continued, and I felt a gnawing nervousness grow inside me as my thoughts returned to what had happened between me and Max. Would anyone notice anything strange in our behavior?
As we continued to talk and laugh, I tried not to let my thoughts drift away. I listened to Carlos and Pierre's jokes and saw how Max smiled and joked with them. It was as if nothing had happened between us, as if everything was as usual.
Danny, who was sitting next to Max, was laughing loudly at some joke and I felt Max turn to me with a smile.
"You look a little pensive, everything good?" he asked and I could feel my cheeks reddening.
