the rest of our trip in Bora Bora I had already started planning our wedding. Max knew that I could panic when I didn't have a handle on something and that I needed to plan things down to the smallest detail. We had thought that our wedding would be during the summer break. partly because it wasn't that often as we had several weeks off, but also because I wanted it to be quick, and thanks to the fact that I had been dreaming about my dream wedding since I was little, most things were already planned for us.
We were going to have an engagement party at our place when we got home, and there we were going to ask if those we had planned wanted to be our groomsmen and bridesmaids.
Since I didn't have many friends, I immediately knew who I wanted as my bridesmaid. I had enjoyed every second here, but now it was time to start packing our bags, and I felt sad to leave the beautiful island. Max thought I was going to turn into a mermaid when it was time for us to go home, considering how much I had been swimming. Our taxi was picking us up in two hours to take us to the airport, and I wasn't even close to packing, which made Max stressed. When the taxi arrived, we got in, and he drove us at a slow speed to the airport. I wasn't in the mood to go for what felt like three hundred years, but I longed to get home and be with our cats.
I sat in the window seat and looked out over the island once we started flying back to Monaco. After several hours, we were finally at the airport. I felt so dirty and just wanted to go home, shower, and then sleep. The drive to our house took a long time because there were a lot of cars on the roads, but finally we were home. I unlocked the door, and I could hear Mango flying down the stairs before I could even open the door.
We stepped in and were welcomed by the cats, who were sitting and waiting for us in a row. I dropped my bags, left them lying in the hall, and went straight upstairs to take a bath. I took off my clothes while the water was filling up, and when I stepped into the water, I felt like it was too hot. I didn't want to be boiled alive.
After I adjusted the water, I leaned my head back to enjoy it before I fell asleep in the tub. I woke up 30 minutes later to find Max knocking on the door. I got up and opened the door so he could come in while I started to dry myself. He scolded me, saying that it was dangerous to fall asleep in the bathtub because, according to him, it was not good to lose your wife before you even got married. I laughed and went down to the bedroom to sleep. I had such a hard time sleeping on planes, so being awake for so long left me feeling completely drained. The cats were in Max's place in the bed, so when I laid down, he carried the cats up and released them on me. I fell asleep immediately and then slept like a baby for 12 hours.
The next morning, I was the one who had woken up before Max, so I snuck up and went to the kitchen so I could make him breakfast. But just as I was about to start picking out ingredients for pancakes, I heard the door open, and heavy steps came towards me before I saw Max standing in the opening.
"You left me alone in bed."
"I wanted to make you breakfast."
"We'll order something instead; we have to tidy up the place before people come over."
I knew he was right; I would have to clean the house so it didn't look bad. We had said they could come at 4 o'clock, and now it was around 11. In five hours, I would have time to clean the whole house, put away and unpack our bags, shower, put on make-up, fix my hair, and put on clothes. Max would take the upstairs, and I would clean the downstairs. After three hours, we were finally done with all the cleaning and had unpacked our bags.
