I had no idea what to wear today. Max had told me to stop stressing and wear something comfortable.
"Belle, you are going to meet my family. not any royalty"

it was warm today so I decided to wear a maxi skirt and a tank top but with a hoodie over my shoulders so I could wear it in case it got colder. we were leaving in an hour. i went to the big mirror in my room and spun around a lap to inspect myself. Max was right, it was just his family but I still wanted everything to be perfect.
"What do I look like" I said spinning around once more for Max to see.
"you look absolutely fantastic. they will love you"
time had ticked fast and it was time for us to go. Max had told us that we would be on a boat and take it easy on the water. I thought that sounded like a good idea and we went out to his car and the sun rays blinded me the second I opened the door. we got into the car and started driving. Max held my hand as he drove, trying to keep my nerves in check.
we were quickly at the water and when we got out of the car I felt like my legs were jelly.
"just be yourself Liefje"
he gave me a kiss on the forehead and we walked towards the boat. as we approached I heard children laughing and adults talking in the distance.
"Mom. Max is here now" I heard someone call and quickly after that a woman came forward who I quickly realized was Max's mother.
we stepped onto the boat and were greeted by a warm hug.
"Welcome Belle, I've seen and heard a lot about you"
"thanks, nice to meet you"
I smiled and immediately felt calmer. Sophie hugged Max before Sophie showed us the way to the other side of the boat. on a sofa I saw a blonde girl and two children. I knew it was Max's sister Victoria and her children Luka and Lio.
Victoria stood up and welcomed me with a hug. the children said hello and when they saw Max they ran and hugged him. my calm quickly turned to nervousness as Sophie looked at me without saying anything.
"so belle how is max doing"
