I had accidentally fallen asleep on the sofa waiting for Max to come by and woke up drastically. at first I didn't understand what it was that had woken me up but soon I heard knocks on the door and understood that he was outside.

I staggered to the door and I barely had time to open the door fully before Max rushed in. I closed the door behind me and turned to him questioningly. He kicked off his shoes and gave me a kiss on the cheek and then ran into the bathroom.

"hello you too" I said quietly to myself and went back to the couch.

after five minutes he came into the living room and he had a big bag with him. I looked questioningly at the bag because I had no memory of forgetting so much and Max seemed to see that I was looking at him questioningly.

"in the bag are the clothes you forgot and some other things"

"what other things"

"yes if you look in the bag you will see" he said almost impatiently.

I did as he said and held out my hand so I could receive the bag. the first thing I saw were my sandals I had been living in, a skirt and a sweater. at the bottom I saw two white garments that I didn't recognize so I picked them up and held them up in front of me.

"I didn't know which one you thought was the best so I bought both, I don't want to risk you tearing my shirts"

"hmmmm. i like both equally, thanks maxie"

"I'm going now but it was nice to borrow your toilet"

"Huh? Already? You just arrived," I said questioningly.

"yes?"

"stay a while at least"

his eyes lit up and sat down next to me. there was silence between us but it wasn't a weird silence where you had to say something just to break it. I turned on the tv and tried to find something to watch, I glanced up and saw that Max was focused on something outside.

I followed his gaze and saw that in my garden there was a cat walking by the edge of the pool. I had forgotten to pull on the pool roof and I felt my heart rate rise with each step it took on the edge. then came the thing that both Max and I were worried about, the cat falling in.

I got up and ran to the patio door to open. Max told me to hurry and I hurried as fast as I could and when the door opened I threw it open and ran to the edge of the pool and laid on my stomach to try and catch the cat. The cat splashed but couldn't get close enough for me to pick it up so Max jumped in the pool with all his clothes on and scooped the cat up and swam to the edge.
