That night, Fawn was having a conversation with Scarlett, and trying to explain to her what the military men were doing.
"I still can't BELIVE Kyle ruined my chances at going to Mexico!" Scarllet cried.
"Yeah, Scarlett, you know that you weren't actually going to Mexico, right?" Fawn asked.
"But-but those guys said they would take me!"
"They were lying to you."
"Those JERKS! Why would they do that?!"
"They had to convince you to come with them somehow, and that was it."
"But what about the needle and the-"
"That was a bullet gun, Scarlett!"
Scarlett sat there for a moment, as it hit her that the boy who Fawn hates so much saved her and Fawn's lives.
"Oh.... so Kyle really DID save us?"
"Yep." Fawn replied.
At that moment, Kyle was out of his tent because he wanted to apologize to Fawn for his actions at the hospital. As he approached the entrance to Fawn and Scarlett's tent, he accidentally overheard this part of the conversation.
"Wow... I really need to say sorry after this..." Scarlett said slowly.
"I actually find it kind of sweet that he saved us like that. Even though he hates me, and after I accused him of killing mom and dad..." Fawn said.
At that moment, Kyle opened the door to the tent.
"Hey!" He exlaimed.
"You didn't hear that, did you?" Fawn asked nervously. She didn't want Kyle to know how she felt.
"Would it make you feel better if I said no?"
"Yes."
"Then no, no I did not."
After that he cane into the tent.
"You wouldn't mind if Scarlett went over to my tent with Allena for a moment, would you?" He asked.
"Oh no!" Fawn answered. "In case you did not yet notice, me and Scarlett were nearly killed 2 hours ago, I'm not going down that road again!"
"It's only a few steps away, nothing can possibly happen a few steps away."
"Fine.... Scarlett, can you go over to Kyle and Allena's tent for a second?" Fawn sighed.
"Okey dokey!" Scarlett replied cheerfully.
"Okay first, I really needed to apologize," Kyle said after Scarlett had left. "I'm really sorry for telling the group that you guys are Panda People. It was the stupidest thing I have ever done in my whole life and I feel really bad for doing it. I really hope that you can forgive me for being a jerk and putting yours and Scarlett's lives at risk. And... Maybe now that this is behind us, we can finally be friends?" He said.
"It's ok. I... I shouldn't have over-reacted... And sure!" Fawn added happily.
"I also had one thing I wanted to tell you..." Kyle started.
"I think I'm going to teach Scarlett how to use a gun."
"Say WHAT!? Dude, the girl's only 5 years old, and you expect to teach her to use a GUN? That could go so badly!" Fawn cried.
"Trust me, she'll be fine! I've known how to use one for a few years now, how hard can it be?"
"It's a little girl on an eternal sugar rush were talking about here, and your asking me how HARD IT CAN BE!?" Fawn retorted.
"What I meant was, It's really easy to use one, and it won't take long, so nothing major should happen."
"Okay fine, you win. But if Scarlett gets hurt, Your dead."
