Chapter 38

The next day, the group was sitting around, talking about Fawn. Whenever someone mentioned that something may have happened to her, Kyle got angry. He was still pretty disgruntled about the night before, on top of the whole Fawn situation.
"So, when do you guys think she's coming back?" Nani asked.
"Pretty soon I think... She's been gone for a while now..." Tyler said thinking.
"She should be back soon. If she's not by tomorrow, I don't care what she says I'm looking for her!" Kyle retorted.
"She didn't want you to though..." Allena suggested.
"Are you AGAINST her or something?" Kyle asked.
"No. Not at all. I just think you should listen to her wishes. She grew up knowing how to take care of herself, and survive some rough conditions. I'm sorry if your just learning this now, but she can take care of herself, and we all need to respect that of her. And Kyle, admit it, I'm not the only thing you can be a little protective about..." Allena said quietly. Everyone gave her a weird look.
"A little?" Tyler said.
"Okay fine a lot!" Allena finished.
"So what? I can be a little-" Kyle started. "Okay really protective over you and Fawn, but that's not a BAD thing... Is it? I mean, I'm just looking out for you guys!" He defended.
"Okay then. So, what are we all gonna do today?" Venus asked.
"I really don't know, to be honest." Mika answered.
"Me neither." Nani added. Scarlett stayed silent. By now everyone was starting to notice, but Scarlett was not acting like herself lately. She never talked, and always seemed anxious.
"Hey Scarlett, are you okay? You don't seem like yourself..." Caden asked her.
"No. I'm worried about Fawn... What if she got hurt? She can't die. I'll have no family left." Scarlett answered, looking as if she was about to cry. Then Allena walked over to her.
"I'm sure Fawn's going to be okay Scar! And if she doesn't show up soon, we're all going to look for her, even though she said not to. And if something did happen, which I doubt it will, You'll always have us." She said kindly. Scarlett made an attempt to smile. She really appreciated Allena's kind words, and secretly thought of her as another older sister.
"Thanks Allena, it means a lot." She said appreciatively. Allena smiled in return.
The rest of the day was basically just gathering supplies, and building up the cabin to make more rooms for each group of people. As of now, Fawn, Scarlett, and Bear shared a room, Kyle and Allena shared a room, Tyler and Gretzky slept on the couch, Venus was a loner, Caden was a loner, and Mika and Nani shared a room. Near the end of the day, Kyle gathered the group.
"Okay... I've decided tomorrow I'm going to go looking for Fawn, you guys can come if you want to, but you don't have to. Although, it would be nice to have some company." He said. "She's been gone for way too long, and it's killing me. I'm just so worried about her." He added afterwards.  The group looked at each other.
"Well... We did just say that we were going to look for her if she doesn't come back soon a few hours ago." Caden stated.
"Yeah. She's been gone for a week! I'm starting to worry too." Venus added.
"I think it would be fair if a few of us went." Nani said.
"So I can go?" Kyle asked.
"Seems like it!" Tyler replied.
"Well, since you said that someone can come... Can I come with you then? I'm just scared that something bad might happen to you again if you went alone. Like last time." Allena asked.
"Yep!" Kyle answered.
"Finally! I wish you said that last time!" Allena exclaimed.
"I wanna come to!" Scarlett added. The group looked at her concerned.
"I don't know Scar..." Venus said nervously.
"Well why not?" Scarlett asked.
"You're only five, what if something happened to you? Like the military got you?" Mika explained.
"Oh come on! I'm sure that won't happen." Scarlett said impatiently. She really wanted to go look for Fawn.
"We just don't want to risk it. You're the youngest one here! I don't think any of us would forgive ourselves if something bad happened." Caden replied.
"But-! She's my sister! And I'm really worried about her. What if she got hurt? I've GOTTA look for her!!!" Scarlett cried. Then there was an awkward silence.
"W-well... She did have a good point.... And besides, it's not like she's going by herself. I-I'm going to... If that even helps. And so is Kyle." Allena said quietly, not knowing if the group was going to agree with her.
"If you put it that way... You're actually kind of right! Scarlett wouldn't be going by herself anyway! She'll have someone with her!" Nani exclaimed.
"Yeah, but she could STILL get hurt, or killed. Oh, wait! Or is that what you WANTED to happen?!" Kyle said sarcastically looking at Allena.
"Oh COME ON! Fawn's her older sister! Scarlett's probably SCARED out of her MIND! I was freaking out the 3rd day that you were gone, so of course she'd want to go! She's 5! So just let it go!!!" Allena cried annoyed.
"Let it gooooo! Let it goooo! Can't hold it back aaaanymoooore!" Tyler sang jokingly. The whole group stared at him.
"Not the time?-okay." He added quickly afterwards.
"Guys can I go?! Allena's right, I AM scared out of my MIND! IM LOSING IT OVER HERE!" Scarlett yelled.
"No." Kyle said sternly. "You are NOT going."
"... OH COME ON!" Scarlett complained. "I've lived off of bread and milk for around 2 thirds of my life, I think I can handle THIS!" Tyler laughed at this comment, and Kyle glared at him.
"Not the time? Ok... Again..." Tyler said quietly.
"Come on guys, Fawn is Scarlett's older sister, she has a right to go looking for her!" Mika defended. Kyle groaned at this comment.
"...Kyle...?" Scarlett asked.
"Yes."
"Could you pretty please chocolate ice cream with a cherry on top with sprinkles and SKITTLES let me go?" Scarlett said innocently batting her eyelashes for emphasis.
"The only reason I'm saying NO is because... Well... I know Fawn wouldn't want me to let you go..." Kyle answered. Everyone in the group looked at him.
"Pleaaaaaaaaaaase?" Scarlett said really slowly.
"Oh... Ugh... FINE." He said.
"YES!" Scarlett cheered.
"I think I'll come too." Venus added.
"Ok, is that it? Me, Scarlett, Venus, and Allena?" Kyle asked.
"I think I'll come as well..." Tyler said.
"Okay! Sounds good! How does tomorrow sound to look? I just can't take it anymore... She could be hurt, or stolen by the military, or... D-dead..." Kyle said slowly.
"Sounds good to me!" Allena cheered.
"Same!" Venus and Scarlett said in synch.
"Tomorrow it is!" Tyler added happily.
"Sweet. So... Tomorrow. We're coming Fawn!" Kyle said. That night none of them had a clue about what they were going to find.
