Chapter 36

After a day or two of walking back, Fawn found the cabin again. When she got back, Scarlett and Kyle were the first ones to talk to her.
"Fawn! You're back!" Scarlett exclaimed as she gave Fawn a hug.
"Yep!" Fawn replied.
"Thank GOD you're okay. I was worried SICK! Anyway... How was it?" Kyle asked her.
"It was pretty good. Although I had to share an apartment with a boy named Logan. He's a year older then us, and a complete JERK." Fawn replied.
"Well that's gotta suck!" Mika exclaimed. Kyle just stared at Fawn in shock.
"What?? I thought you were KIDDING when you said you weren't going to meet someone else!!! And now you're sharing an apartment, with SOMEONE ELSE?!" He cried.
"She just said he was a jerk." Venus told him.
"I'm almost positive that she wouldn't date someone she doesn't like." Caden added.
"Right..." Kyle said embarrassed.
"Oh my..." Allena sighed quietly.
So Fawn decided she would wait until later to tell the group that she was going to go back with the Panda People and fight the military until later. Because she didn't want to worry them again. So that night, she did.
"Hey guys... About the AIH..." She began.
"What is it?" Scarlett asked.
"I was told by Logan, and the lady that runs the place, Cara if you don't remember, that they were planning an attack on the military. I was going to join them, and that's why I came back here. To tell you guys." She explained. The group looked at her in shock.
"Fawn..." Kyle started.
"Yeah?" Fawn answered.
"Are you INSANE?! Are you crazy, are you going mad, are you SUICIDAL?! You're going to get yourself KILLED! I'm NOT letting you go out there! Even if you actually WANT to die! Just... NO!" He cried. By the time he finished his outburst, he was directly in front of Fawn. Then Allena grabbed Kyle's shoulder and pulled him away a few steps.
"Okay, calm down!" She said.
"What?! Allena!!" He cried somewhat mad.
"Please don't tell me you're not opposed to this!" He added.
"Oh believe me, I am! But you were going a little bit crazy for a second..." She replied.
"Oh... Oops..." He said embarrassed again.
"The point is, That's really dangerous Fawn! Like, even more dangerous than when Kyle went to find his dad!" Nani exclaimed.
"Yeah! You can't go!" Tyler added.
"Look guys, I know it's dangerous, but the military has killed so many innocent people just like me! And they weren't any harm to society. I feel like this is one of my only chances to get them back, and I'm going to take it. No matter how risky." Fawn explained.
"Well when you put it that way....... No." Venus said flatly.
"It was very deep though." Caden said.
"Oh come on guys! At least one of you are going to let me go, right?" Fawn asked.
"Let's take a vote." Nani suggested.
"Everyone who wants Fawn to go, raise your hand." She added. The only one who did was Fawn.
"Everyone who doesn't..." Nani said. The rest of the group put up their hands, and Bear barked.
"Even Greztky thinks it's a bad idea!" Tyler exclaimed. Apparently with his free hand, Tyler raised Greztky's paw.
"The cat?! Again?!" Caden asked. As if on cue, Greztky scratched Tyler's arm.
"Ow!" He cried.
"Are you okay?!" Allena asked him.
"Yeah. Offended, but yes, I'm fine." Tyler replied glaring at Gretzky.
"So... Can I go?" Fawn asked. In her mind she already knew the answer.
"Hmmm..." Scarlett said.
"Let me think about it for a sec..." Kyle said sarcastically.
"NO." They both said together.
"Come on! I promise I'm not suicidal, I just really want to fight with the others! The military has taken so much away from me and I think it's time I get them back!" Fawn explained.
"Well can I at least come with you? That way you won't get hurt!" Kyle cried.
"For the last time, no. I don't want to risk you getting hurt." Fawn said.
"She does have a good point about getting revenge on the military though..." Allena said shyly. 
"ALLENA!" Kyle yelled. 
"Sorry..." She said quietly, knowing that the whole group probably thought she was crazy.
"Finally, at least she understands!" Fawn exclaimed. 
"Yeah, she does.  But I'm still not letting you go without me!" Kyle protested. 
"Guys, it's probably going to be really dangerous, I'm positive.  But I'll be fine, I swear." Fawn said.
"How would you be fine... In a place like THAT?!" Caden asked.
"Well, I actually didn't know this until a few days ago but... Cara's mine and Scarlett's aunt.  Our dad was her brother." She explained. 
"WHAT?!" Scarlett yelled.
"Seriously?" Mika added.  Fawn nodded her head yes.
"That's really cool, but how does that help exactly?" Venus asked.
"She'll probably make sure nothing really bad happens to me.  That's what family does, right?" Fawn answered.
"True." Nani said.
"Yeah. That's what family is SUPPOSED to do for each other. But you seem to have bad luck when it comes to family, remember, Luke?" Kyle protested, putting emphasis in the word supposed.
"Ehhhh." Fawn said.
"Whatever." She added afterwords.
"So, now does anybody else think I should go?" She asked.
"No. No no no no no no no no.... And, riiiiight, almost forgot, NO." Kyle finished.
"You know what... I'm going to go anyways." Fawn said.
"WHAT?!" Kyle cried. "I'm your boyfriend, I should have a say in things! What- what if, you get shot again. And we don't get there quick enough! You could... Die." Kyle moaned.
"It will be pretty dangerous, but I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm going anyways either way." Fawn stated.
"Oh- oh my gosh." Kyle sighed in frustration. "Fawn, I love you and all, but your really stubborn sometimes." Kyle sighed.
"Oh I'm stubborn?" Fawn said sarcastically. "I'm going anyways." She added after, then walked off to her room. 
"Does she not realize that she could DIE?!" Kyle asked the group.
"Oh I think she knows all right!" Caden said.
"And I think that's especially why she wants to do it." Tyler added afterwords.
"Are you suggesting that Fawn, MY Fawn, is SUICIDAL!" Kyle cried.
"Guys, she probably isn't suicidal." Nani said.
"Yeah. It does make sense that she would want to go through with it, after all that the military has done to her. No matter HOW stupid it sounds." Allena added.
"AGAIN Allena... With AGREEING WITH FAWN!" Kyle cried.
"Well, think about it. First they kidnapped Luke, and turned him AGAINST Fawn and Scarlett. Then like, four years later they killed her parents! She was TEN! And I thought that my parents abusing me was bad, I would hate to be in Fawn's position." She explained.
"So you agree with her?" Kyle asked somewhat mad at her.
"Yeah... I guess..." She replied quietly.
"Oh my gosh Allena... How could you even CONSIDER agreeing with that?! Do you want her to die?" He asked.
"I don't want her to die. But... I don't know... She is going to go anyways, I'm positive. Wether we want her to or not. And she has a pretty good reason as well..." She said.
"ALLENA! She's not even thirteen yet, SHES STILL 12! And those wackos want her to fight against THE MILITARY! Oh my gosh. And I can't believe you agree with them Allena..." Kyle said angrily.
"I don't agree with them AT ALL! I don't want Fawn to fight. I'm just saying that I see where she is coming from!" Allena said, standing her ground.
"I just... I can't believe it." Kyle growled. All of a sudden, Fawn walked out of the cabin.
"Guys?" She asked.
"What?" Tyler asked.
"I forgot to tell you something earlier..." She said quietly, looking really sad.
"What is it?" Allena asked caringly.
"Well... Cara told me, Luke... Is..." She began put paused for a couple of seconds, trying to get the words out of her mouth. "D-Dead." She finally said. "The military got him." Fawn said in tears. Kyle walked up to her and put his arm around her.
"It's going to be okay, okay?" He said supportively. Fawn began to cry.
"Oh Fawn... I'm so sorry..." Nani said sadly. 
"What? He's dead?" Scarlett asked.
"Yeah..." Caden answered. 
"Oh...." She said really sadly, even though she didn't know him for that long.
"Well... He was a jerk though..." Tyler added.
"TYLER!!!" Venus and Allena yelled. 
"Whaaaaat it's true!" He exclaimed.
"Well you don't need to SAY IT OUT LOUD." Venus said sarcastically.
"I'm gonna go back inside..." Fawn said slowly but sadly still crying.
"Okay. I'll be there in a few minutes, okay?" Kyle said.
"Okay." Fawn replied. Then she walked away.
"And that too... That would be another reason why she'd go..." Allena said slowly after a few seconds.
"Allena...." Kyle started.
"Well, I'm sorry okay?! I know you're her boyfriend, and you really don't want her to go, and believe me I don't either, but... Well..." She said, but trailed off because she didn't know what else to say.
"Oh my god Allena..." Kyle sighed angrily.
"Yeah... I hate to say it but, You're the only one that DOES think Fawn should go." Venus added.
"I don't WANT HER to leave! I'm just saying that it seems legit that she would want to, she isn't suicidal, she's gonna go ANYWAYS, and maybe we should just tell her that she could go if one of us does." Allena explained.
"Oh... My... God..." Tyler sighed.
"What?" Mika asked.
"We just went through this whole darn thing where we WANTED one of us to go with Fawn, and we thought that Allena went completely insane, and she agreed with us this whole time." Tyler answered.
"I just.... I don't know what I'm trying to say anymore!" Allena cried.
"Guys, give her a break! Allena is probably right. Fawn is going to go anyway. Heck, she might even sneak off in the middle of the night if she was that desperate!" Caden added.  Then Kyle glared at him.
"What?" Caden asked.
"First of all, you and Allena are BOTH going insane, second.... Never mind." Kyle replied.  He was about to say because he knew the reason why Caden was agreeing with Allena, until he remembered that she was right there.
"What's the second reason?" Allena asked.
"He knows..." Kyle answered. "Anyways..." Kyle started.
"I'm going to go talk to Fawn, I think she needs someone to talk to." Kyle added before walking towards the cabin.
"No, really. What's the second reason?!" Allena asked again. Mika was about to tell her that Caden liked her, but Tyler replied.
"Well, it's kinda obvious that Kyle doesn't even like Caden that much anyways. I think that was it." He said.
"No it was-" Mika began to say.
"Yes. It was." Tyler cut her off again.
"Uh.... Okay....!" Allena said not 100% convinced.
Back inside of the cabin, Fawn was in her and Scarlett's room, crying. Once Kyle got there, he knocked on the door.
"Hey... Fawn? Is it okay if I come in?" He asked.
"Yeah..." Fawn said after a moment. Then Kyle walked in.
"Look... I'm really sorry about Luke." He said sympathetically.
"Thanks..." Fawn replied. "I know that he nearly killed Scarlett and I by turning us in to the military, but I can't help but remember all the good times we had as little kids.  He was a really good older brother... He was my only friend back then.  He understood me almost better than my parents.  And now he's... he's... Gone..." She added nearly starting to cry again. 
"Oh Fawn..." Kyle said sadly.   "But... If you think about it, Luke is in a better place now than at the military base.  And, you'll always have me as well." He said trying to cheer her up.
"Thanks Kyle.  That's really sweet!" Fawn answered.  They started talking for a few minutes, when the conversation got changed to Fawn leaving to fight the military.
"So about the attack..." Fawn started.
"Oh no. For the last time, you can't go!" Kyle exclaimed.
"Oh come on! Please?" Fawn cried.
"At least let me come to. I'm pretty sure nobody would mind!" Kyle suggested.
"I would but... If you got shot, or killed... It would be all my fault. And I can't lose you." Fawn explained.
"Oh.... I didn't know you felt that way..." Kyle said slowly. "And that's really sweet but... I STILL want to come!" He added.
"I think it would be better if only I left. And I am going. You can't stop me. That's final." Fawn stated.
"But-! Fawn! Oh fine! You win." Kyle said exasperated.
"I'll be right back." He said as he left the room. After he left he went back outside.
"You don't look to impressed... What happened?" Venus asked.
"She's going. I tried to stop her but NOPE! She's going!" Kyle cried.
Allena looked at the ground, looking like she was trying not to laugh.
"What is it?" Caden asks her.
"Told ya....!" She said shyly to Kyle. He just glared at her annoyed .
"I hate it when you're right." He sighed angrily.
Allena added a: "Ha!" And then laughed. All of a sudden Fawn came out of the cabin.
"Okay..." She began. "I'm going to go now, ok?" She said. Almost everyone shook their heads. "Okay I'm going anyways." Fawn declared, giving Scarlett and Kyle a hug. "I don't know when I'll be back. But don't come looking for me, ok? Normal panda people don't like humans. Like, they really hate humans. I'm afraid they might shoot at you guys if you come close to the base. So, even if I don't come back in like FOREVER, don't come looking for me." She said. "Even thought that won't happen..." She added shyly afterwards. Before she left, Kyle walked up to her.
"Don't die, ok? I don't know what I'd do if you died. Fawn, I care about you, ok? I would never forgive myself." He said as he gave her one last hug. "Just don't do anything stupid." He added afterwards.
"Got it." Fawn said afterwards. "Okay... Well... I guess this is... Goodbye." Fawn said shyly looking at the whole group. Everyone said there goodbyes and then Fawn left. It took both Caden, Kyle, and Tyler to restrain Bear from following Fawn, as Bear was a HUGE dog. He howled in grief, and then gave up.
"It's okay buddy... She'll be ok... I hope." Kyle said patting Bear on the side, watching as Fawn disappeared into the pattern of endless trees. And then she was gone.
