That night, Fawn didn't wake up at all. Or the next day, or the day after that. The group started to get very, very concerned about Fawn, especially Scarlett and Kyle.  Scarlett almost never talked unless necessary. The thought that was always in the back of her mind was that at any given moment, Fawn could not make it, and Scarlett would be left alone. And Kyle was almost more worried than Scarlett... Almost as if he was in some sort of depression.  He always wanted to be left alone, and almost avoided all conversations, even with Allena.  The group actually began to get concerned about him.
It was the night of the fourth day since the group had found Fawn, and the kids were just talking, when suddenly, Kyle just put his head in his hands and sighed.
"What's wrong?" Marly asked him.
"When will she wake up...?!" He asked no one in particular.
"She did get shot in the neck Kyle.  I'm no doctor, but perhaps her brain is just trying to learn how to work without all the blood that she lost. She did lose quite a bit..." Venus suggested.
"That's actually a good theory!" Nani added.
"She's been out for four days, FOUR DAYS!!! Wouldn't her brain learn to work without the extra blood by now?!" Kyle snapped.
"Well I could always be wrong..." Venus said again.
"I didn't say that! I just mean... Shouldn't she be up by now?! I can't take it anymore!" Kyle replied.
"Kyle... Are you feeling alright? You're acting up..." Tyler asked him.
"I'm fine." He snapped.
"No, you're not. I can see it. Look, I don't know how you feel, but this... This is NOT like you bro. You've barely talked to anyone in three days! I don't even remember the last time you talked to Allena, and you two are siblings!!! I don't know what to say to you without you getting mad at me! Just tell one of us what's going on!" Tyler explained.
"NOTHING is wrong!!! I'm just worried about Fawn! Am I not allowed to be?!" Kyle yelled.
"Well obviously you are allowed to be, but I think what Tyler's trying to say is that you've never been this way, and it's starting to concern him." Nani explained calmly.
"Why would he be concerned about me?!" Kyle asked.
"Because you're my best friend! And I hate to see you like this! I don't know how to tell you that... You maybe working yourself up over nothing now..." Tyler said sadly.
"And what do you mean by that?" Kyle asked defensively.
"Well... She's been in a coma for 4 days... And as much as I want her to wake up, she might not..." Tyler said quietly about Fawn.
"She will wake up!!!" Kyle retorted.
"This is getting really confusing...!" Caden whispered to Tyler. Tyler nodded his head in agreement.
"You know what, never mind. I can't take it anymore. I can't take waiting for Fawn anymore, or the thought of her dying." Kyle said after a moment, then he left.
The group stayed in silence for a minute, whenever Caden noticed that Allena looked like she was holding back tears. He walked over to where she was sitting and put his arm around her.
"What's wrong?" Caden asked her concerned.
"What's going on with him? He's never acted like this for as long as I've known him, even if that was only not even 4 years... And that whole 'I can't take it anymore'?! What did he mean?! What if he's ACTUALLY depressed?! Or... As stupid as it sounds... If Fawn doesn't wake up... Would he go... Suicidal? If only he'd just tell me what's going on..." Allena said shakily, trying not to cry.
"Oh Allena... He's probably not going to go suicidal if something happened to Fawn... He's just upset. He does overreact a lot, no offense." Venus said kindly.
"Or he's just gone insane." Tyler shrugged. Allena looked at him.
"Okay, out of all the things that could be possible, I know for a fact that Kyle is NOT insane." She retorted.
"Well, if you come to think of it... He kinda is. The other day, I overheard him talking to Fawn, even though she was in a coma." Tyler explained.
"So?! You did that for a minute the last time Fawn got shot!" Caden defended.
"Yeah! And wouldn't you be that upset if something happened to Nani?" Mika added.
"Well DUH. I've known her for more than half of my life!" Tyler replied.
"Are you two still dating?" Allena asked.
"Yes. Yes we are." He answered.
"Oh... Okay. You guys just don't show it as much anymore." She said.
"Can we stop talking about this?" Scarlett asked sadly. She had been so quiet, the group forgot that she was even there.
"Oh... Right. Sorry Scarlett." Caden said sympathetically.
"Should someone go find Kyle? He's been gone for 6 minutes!" Marly asked.
"I don't know about that. He probably just wants to be left alone." Nani answered.
"Nope. I'm going. I don't care if he wants to be left alone, I have to talk to him. At least ONCE." Allena answered.
"Okay. That seems fair." Venus agreed. So Allena got up and left. She assumed that Kyle would be in their room, so she checked there first. He was. The door was shut, so she knocked first.
"Can I come in?" She asked.
"I kinda want to be left alone..." Kyle replied.
"Come on... Please? I'm really worried about you Kyle... Just let me in. Even for a minute!" She asked again.
There was a moment of silence.
"Depends on who you are first." Kyle answered flatly.
"Allena." She said.
"I guess you can come in..." He said.
"FINALLY!" Allena thought. Then she opened the door and walked in.
"Look... I know that you're upset about Fawn and everything, but I kinda have to agree with Tyler... Are you positive that you're okay?" Allena asked concerned.
"Do we have to talk about this?" Kyle sighed.
Allena nodded her head.
"Okay then. There is nothing wrong." Kyle said.
"There HAS to be! Come on Kyle! Why won't you tell anybody?! You can tell me anything you know that! I would never use anything you said against you." Allena cried.
"The only reason I haven't told anyone what's going on is because I myself don't know what's going on. I've just been depressed about nothing for the past 4 days. That's all I know." Kyle told her.
"Okay... If you don't know what's going on, describe what it feels like." Allena said.
"Describe what it feels like?! WHY?!" Kyle asked confused.
"Just because. It might help." Allena answered shrugging.
"Okay... It just feels like... Nothing almost, but so much at the same time. Just so much has happened in the past 3 months or so. The apocalypse started, I'm positive that mom died, I have no HECK of a clue where dad is, I don't know where anyone is, really. And know... And now my own girlfriend is in a freaking coma because she got shot. I suppose that's what did it. I just can't take all the pain much longer. I just lost it really." Kyle explained.
Allena looked shocked.
"Oh... That's what... So... Would you say that you're depressed then?" She asked worriedly.
"I guess." Kyle replied flatly. "How can I not be?! If Fawn doesn't wake up, or if she dies, I feel like I'll have nobody left." He added.
"Kyle..." Allena sighed quietly.
"What?" He asked.
"If Fawn... If... If something happened to Fawn, you wouldn't be alone. You'd have the rest of the group. And... If you haven't forgotten... You'll always have me.  You've been nicer to me than anyone I've ever known has been, and you've always been there for me, even though we aren't real siblings. And I really hate seeing you this way. And... Even though I've known you for not even 4 years, I still love you. You're my older brother, how could I not?" Allena said kindly, and a little shyly. Kyle hugged her.
"Thanks Allena. And I love you too." He replied quietly.
"So, is that all that was wrong? You're just depressed and all that?" Allena asked after a moment.
"Yeah. But now that I actually let you help me, I'm pretty sure that I'll get over it. It's only a temporary thing I think." Kyle answered. "Unless Fawn doesn't wake up..." He added sadly.
"Okay. First of all, she will. Second of all, of course you'd be upset and a little depressed if  she didn't. I would be too, so would most of the group." Allena told him.
"True..." Kyle said slowly.  They talked for a few minutes, when they decided to go back to the group.
"Are you sure you're okay now?" Allena asked before they left.
"A little. Let's just hope that you guys won't be worried about me anymore." Kyle replied jokingly.
"I'll try...!" Allena giggled. Then they waked back to the rest of the group.
"You're back!" Tyler exclaimed.
"Yeah... Sorry for losing it at you guys earlier. I don't know what's gotten into me lately. I guess I'm just a little depressed about Fawn is all." Kyle replied sadly.
"I'm worried too...." Scarlett added quietly.
"That's alright. I think we understand." Nani replied kindly.
"But she'll be fine, I know it!" Mika exclaimed.
"When will she wake up then? Hasn't it been four days?" Scarlett asked nervously.
"Well.... She is in a coma.... So it could be a while..." Caden said slowly.
"A month?" Marly suggested.
"Maybe not THAT long." Venus added.
"I'd say a week. She'll be okay, guys. Have some hope. She pulled through the last time, and I'm sure she will again. Even though it's taking her a lot longer to wake up. She wouldn't just leave us like this. And I'm 100% positive that she wouldn't leave Scarlett alone without any family left. We just have to wait and hope for the best. Who's with me?" Allena told the group.
"I agree. She will be fine. Sure, we're all worried to heck about her, but we don't need to be. Like Allena said, Fawn would never leave us like this. She wouldn't let this happen to us... and herself." Nani added.
"Well, I guess we're gonna have to wait, then. I really hope you guys are right..." Kyle said worriedly.
