Chapter 21

After a few minutes, the group got back to the cabin that Kyle and Allena found.
"So... This is it?" Nani asked.
"Yep." Allena answered.
"It looks like it could collapse at any second." Tyler exclaimed.
"Believe me.. Me and Scarlett lived in an abandoned house kind of like this! It's actually not that bad." Fawn said shyly.
"Well, We never know until we try!" Allena said. So they went in.
But when they got inside, something totally unexpected stopped all of them right at the door. Someone was already in there. It was a boy that seemed like he was there age, and he was staring at them with shock.
"Who the heck are you people?!" He asked.
"Who are we, who are you?!" Venus exclaimed.
"My names Caden." The boy replied.
"What are you doing in here?" Kyle asked.
"Me and three others were in here before. Two of them got bit a few weeks ago, and my brother left a week ago to find somethings. He told me to stay put and he'd be back. He would've been back by now." Caden explained. Then Nani took a rope out of her bag and started walking towards Caden.
"Woah woah woah, what are you doing with that rope!" He cried.
"Just to be sure." Nani answered. Then she started tying him up.
"Uhhhh Nani? Is it really necessary to tie.... You know what, never mind." Allena said but cut herself off after some of the group shot her a look.
"Can one of you guys help me throw him in another room?" Nani asked once she was done.
"Sure." Tyler replied.
"Throw me in another room?! Come on, I'm thirteen! Probably most of you are about that age!! I'm innocent, I swear!" Caden complained.
"I'm not thirteen! I'm 5!!" Scarlett said.
"But still..." Caden pleaded.
"Shut up!" Nani said. And with that, she and Tyler had found a room with a door and shoved Caden in there.
"How long are we going to keep him in there?" Mika asked.
"I don't know, probably just until we figure out what to do with him." Nani replied.
About fifteen minutes later the group has set up a few of their things in the cabin, and found out that Venus's ankle was probably twisted, not broken, and she could probably walk on it in a few days. But they still hadn't came to a conclusion about what to do with Caden. A lot of noise was beginning to come from the room Nani and Tyler had locked him up in, and it didn't sound good. Knowing that nobody would check on him, or let her check on him, Allena snuck off to look for the room so she could explain what they were doing to Caden.
"What are you doing?" Caden asked her when she opened the door, perhaps a little to loudly though.
"I came to untie you. But we have to be quiet! I'm not supposed to be here." Allena whispered.
"Oh.... really? aren't you one of the group members though?" Caden asked.
"Yeah, I am. That's why I'm not allowed in here. But you've been in here for like, ten minutes! I would've lost it if I were you." Allena exclaimed.
"I think I already did lose it to be honest." Caden said.
"Exactly." Allena replied. Then she shut the door and started to untie Caden.
"So what are you guys doing here?" He asked.
"Well, we had a campsite about a half hour away from here, but a bunch of zombies kept attacking the place, and it became to dangerous. So we were looking for a new place, and we saw you're cabin here and... yeah." Allena explained.
"Ohhhhh. But that still doesn't explain why you guys had to tie me up!"
"Yeah sorry about that... I don't know why that happened either."
Allena explained some other things to Caden after she finished untying him. About two minutes later, the door opened.
"Allena, what are you doing in here?" Someone asked.
"Oh no!" She said quietly. When she turned around, she saw Kyle standing in the doorway.
"Heeeeey....!" She said embarrassed.
"Seriously, what ARE you doing?!" Kyle asked again.
"I.... Untied him." She answered.
"Why?"
"He was in here for ten minutes! And we didn't even have to tie him up! I felt bad."
"We can't trust him yet."
"Why not?"
"You remember what happened with Luke! This is probably the SAME thing!"
"Who now?" Caden asked.
"I'll explain later." Allena whispered.
"How could Caden be anything like Luke?" She asked.
"I don't know. Something feels off about him, and if he is anything like Luke, I don't want him hurting you." Kyle replied.
"Oh really?! Why would I even- you know what, why do I try with you people!" Caden cried.
"Let's just get to the point. Allena, you're coming with me, and YOU, are staying right here!" Kyle said pointing at Caden.
"Is he always like this?" Caden whispered.
"He can get pretty over protective about me sometimes I'll tell you that." Allena whispered back. Then she got up and left with Kyle.
