So Fawn went to bed about a half hour earlier then the rest of the group, and woke up quite early in the morning. She woke Scarlett up, so she would know where Fawn was.
"Fawn..." She said.
"Sorry Scar. I just thought I'd let you know I'm leaving." Fawn said.
"You sure you don't want me to come with you?" Scarlett asked.
"I just can't risk you getting hurt. If it's all a lie, I would never forgive myself if you got hurt." She explained.
"Alright. But be careful." Scarlett said somewhat strictly. After a few more minutes, Fawn left their room. She was debating on waking up Kyle, and she did.
"You're leaving now... Aren't you?" He asked her.
"Yeah... I just thought I'd say goodbye first." Fawn replied.
"I still think I should come with you." He said.
"You didn't let me come with you either! I think that it might be dangerous." Fawn said.
"And how did that turn out?" Kyle retorted.
"...Bad..." Fawn admitted.
"Yeah. I can't let anything bad happen to you!" He cried.
"I'll be fine. And if it makes you feel any better, I'll let you go look for me after a while." Fawn said.
"What's going on...?" Allena asked. Turns out she was still asleep when Fawn woke up Kyle.
"Oh crud... I forgot you were still asleep! Sorry Allena!" Kyle exclaimed.
"It's alright. It's not like I get much sleep anymore anyways." She said. "Anyway... What are you doing?" Allena asked Fawn.
"I was just saying goodbye to you guys. I just didn't want to disrupt you too." Fawn answered.
"Oh... Honestly I wouldn't have minded." Allena replied.
"I'll miss you." Kyle said to Fawn.
"You too." She said. "But I better go soon." She added.
"Yeah..." Kyle said sadly.
"And I know that you've been told this a million times already, but really, don't get into any kind of bad situation! I can't lose you. You're like my best friend, and Nani too of course!" Allena said shyly.
"Thanks!" Fawn exclaimed. "Well, I guess I'm going to go... Bye guys." Fawn said as she left the room. So Fawn and Bear left to go to the AIH a few minutes later.
For the next few days, the group tried not to worry about Fawn, knowing that she'll probably be fine. And eventually they all ended up forgetting about her, well, except for Scarlett, Kyle and Allena. One of the days, the group was just messing around, since they really had nothing they needed to do, when Tyler went up to Caden.
"Yo!" Tyler exclaimed. But Caden didn't hear him. Instead, he seemed to be staring off into the distance. After a few more attempts, Tyler just waved his hand in front of Caden's face.
"You who... Can you hear me?!" He asked sarcastically. Then Caden turned around.
"Oh uh what?" He exclaimed.
"I've been trying to get your attention for the past two minutes! WHAT were you looking at?!" Tyler asked. Then Caden's face went a little red.
"Uhhh nothing." He answered quickly.
"Caden..." Tyler said as he looked in the direction he was looking in before. As he looked, he saw Nani and Allena trying to climb a tree.
"You were staring at them, weren't you?" Tyler said teasing Caden. Caden didn't say anything for a few seconds.
"Okay okay! Fine! I was!" Caden cried. Just then, Mika ran over.
"Whatcha doing?" She asked.
"Caden's being weird." Tyler answered.
"Oh..." Mika said.
"So why were you looking over there?" Tyler asked.
"I'll tell you, but only when we're alone!" Caden replied.
"Oh that's offensive." Mika said flatly.
"Sorry kid. I just know you'll tell everyone." Caden answered.
"No! I promise I won't this time! Please?!" Mika pleaded.
"Alright. Here goes. I kinda like Allena..." Caden said finally. Tyler and Mika stared at him in shock for a few seconds.
"I KNEW IT!" Mika near screamed.
"Wow! That's awesome!" Tyler exclaimed.
"What is?" Someone asked from farther behind Tyler and Mika. It was Kyle.
"Oh dear gosh no." Caden said really quietly, knowing that if Kyle knew he liked Allena, he'd probably get mad at him. He already still disliked him.
"Caden here just told us something very interesting..." Tyler said smirking.
"What?! DUDE!!!" Caden cried.
"You're gonna have to tell him at some point!" Mika exclaimed.
"What's going on?" Kyle asked skeptically.
"Well, I... I kind of sort of have a crush on Allena..." Caden told him nervously, almost afraid of what his reaction was going to be. Kyle just stared at him with even more shock then Tyler and Mika had.
"You what?!" He asked. Caden just looked at the ground.
"What the heck- I can't even-!" Kyle stammered not knowing what to say. It was becoming slightly more clear that he didn't want Caden to date Allena.
"Like- Oh my gosh." Kyle stammered.
"Sorry..." Caden said.
"Ugh... This conversation isn't over!" Kyle said before storming away.
"Well then!" Mika exclaimed.
"Man... He reallllly does NOT want you to have anything to do with Allena." Tyler added.
"Yeah. He took it better than I thought he would!" Caden replied.
"So what are you going to do?" Mika asked.
"I think I'm going to get Kyle to change his mind... If he doesn't, it's obvious that he'll tell Allena that he doesn't want her to like me back." Caden answered.
"Good luck with that! I almost think that you'd have a better shot at telling Allena that you like her! Like, at this second!" Tyler smirked.
"NO WAY AM I DOING THAT!" Caden yelled.
"Well, adios!" Mika exclaimed as she ran off to play with Scarlett.
"That's it." Caden thought. "I'm going to ask him straight up why he doesn't want me to date Allena. I'll work it out." He went over in his mind. Then he walked up to Kyle and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Yes?.." Kyle said in a slightly irritated voice. He was not in the mood.
"Hey. I know this may sound kind of awkward, but why don't you want me to date Allena? I mean you know me, you know I'm not going to hurt her, right?" Caden stated.
"I seriously don't want to talk about this right now. Just go." Kyle demanded.
"No. I'm not going away that easily." Caden thought.
"No. I'm not going away. I want to talk about this." Caden said. He seemed serious.
"Fine then. Since when did you grow some-" Kyle began to say but stopped when he saw Scarlett and Mika where nearby. Scarlett ran up to them.
"Some what?" She asked confused. She didn't know what he meant.
"Some... Daisies. Yeah. Some daisies." Kyle said angrily as he watched Caden snicker.
"Oh shut up." He said ticked off. Caden immediately stopped.
"Hey. Scar I know you probably want to play but me and Kyle were having a serious conversation. Is it okay if we have some privacy for a second?" Caden asked.
"Fine. What are you talking about?" Scarlett asked innocently.
"Oh nothing." Kyle said quickly. "She is not knowing about this." He thought.
"Fine. Don't tell me. But will you guys play tag with me and Mika when your done. We just don't have enough people!" Scarlett asked.
"Sure kiddo. But we really need to talk now." Caden said. Scarlett thought about it for a second.
"Ok. Just saying the last one to the tree is it! Bye!" She exclaimed before running off.
"Seriously dude? Some daisies?" Caden laughed. Kyle was not amused.
"Shut up. You wanted to talk about.. You know.. So now is your chance. You have exactly five minutes. Go." Kyle said as he set the time on his watch.
"Okay. Just let me get my thoughts together." Caden said.
"Anyways, so you didn't really answer my question earlier. Why don't you want me to date Allena?" Caden asked. He really wanted to know.
"Well that's a hard one." Kyle thought in his mind. "Well.. Um.. Well. Do you really want to know?" Kyle asked. Caden nodded. "Fine then." Kyle said.
"Allena is my only family I have with me right now. Sure I have my dad, but he isn't with me. If you didn't already know, Allena is adopted. My parents really liked the idea of adopting kids with different pasts, harder pasts. They adopted some other kids before Allena, but they all didn't seem to like it, and they had there own issues. I just couldn't shake the feeling that it was all my fault. All of them left me. Every single one. That was until Allena, of course. She stayed with me. She didn't hate me. She felt like a real sibling. And I just can't bear the thought of her leaving me, or of someone hurting her. I do want to her to be happy, but sometimes I worry she'll forget about me, or leave me. Under all of the stress right now, with Fawn gone and everything, the last thing I really want to think about is her dating someone." Kyle said. "I guess it's a big brother thing." He added afterwards. Caden looked shocked.
"Oh man." He said. "Sorry for asking. But I promise the last thing I would ever even think of doing is hurting her. I would never, I swear on my life." Caden said.
"And why does she even need to date someone. Dating is just... Ew." Kyle added.
"Kyle?" Caden asked.
"What?"
"Your dating someone."
"Right. But it's just different with Allena, ok?" Kyle said. He looked embarrassed.
"Okaaaaay then." Caden said looking at Kyle.
Then Allena came over
"Oh good grief." Kyle muttered.
"Hey." She said slightly out of breath, not hearing what Kyle had just said.
"What were you doing?" Caden asked.
"Scarlett and Mika practically FORCED me to play with them until you guys were done talking. I'm shocked I even got out of it! So what were you guys talking about?" She explained. Kyle and Caden looked at each other, unsure of what to say.
"Guys?" She asked.
"Uh nothing Allena, we'll be done in a second okay?" Kyle told her. Allena opened her mouth to reply, but was cut off.
"THERE SHE IS!" Scarlett yelled.
"Shoot!" Allena cried. Then she started running away. After she was far enough, Kyle looked at Caden again.
"We never had this conversation, got it?" He said strictly.
"Yeah we-" Caden said before getting cut off.
"It means don't tell anyone!" Kyle cried.
"Oh okay! Uhhh sure." Caden stammered. Then he left.
