Shen Qingqiu had been busy with work, so to him it was the best thing in the world when he was finally done and could return home. On his way back home he was definitely more rushed than usual, he noticed that himself, but he couldn't help it. He really needed to get home very badly.
As soon as he entered the study and saw his husband he made an almost pitiful nose, rushing to him, plucking the sleeping cat off his lap to put it on the desk and crawled onto Yue Qingyuan himself now as if he was the cat that had been abandoned. If any of his disciples were around, he would have rather rammed a sword into his stomach than doing this, but right now he really needed this.
And Yue Qingyuan also didn't seem to find it that odd. He put his arms around Shen Qingqiu the moment he sat on his lap, the brush forgotten on the table. Princess looked a bit annoyed to have been ripped from her sleep, but when she saw that her masters were sniffing around one another again, she just stretched out on the papers laying on the desk and continued slumbering.
“I missed you,” Yue Qingyuan whispered, giving Shen Qingqiu the kiss that he was very obviously waiting for. That got him an even tighter squeeze.
“I missed you too,” Shen Qingqiu replied, “I was in such a bad mood the whole day, how am I supposed to survive when you have to leave the mountain for a few days?”
“I could wrap you in one of my robes and put you into Ling Xi Caves to spend those few days meditating?” Yue Qingyuan offered jokingly, but to his surprise Shen Qingqiu didn't look too opposed to that. “And, how much did you get done today?” he asked to change the subject.
“I initiated the first few steps of my plans for the kid. I gave him the task to deliver some papers today. With his nature he probably wrapped most of the other peaklords around his little finger and made a couple new friends amongst the disciples. At least that would be what I prefer,” Shen Qingqiu summarized, “I also requested a few scriptures about demonic techniques that could come in handy. I just hope that Shang Qinghua does not get suspicious of all the books I'm having him get. Especially the last few topics. And to be honest, I doubt there's even something written down about that…”
“Let’s see the positives. If there is nothing written about it, maybe you could be the one to write it down first. You would go down in history as the great scholar that studied demons in a way no one else ever cared to;” Yue Qingyuan said to cheer him up.
“In my dreams,” Shen Qingqiu replied, leaning up to give his husband a kiss for that attempt at cheering him up.
Meanwhile just outside the door a certain Binghe was happily about to enter the room after having fulfilled all his tasks. He waited in front of the door after having knocked for the third time, hearing Yue Qingyuan jokingly say something about studies and demons. When he knocked again and he only heard his teacher say something in return, he gave up knocking and just carefully opened the door, just to witness something that he never thought he could actually witness. His always rather distanced and very proud teacher sitting on the sect leader’s lap with his smiling lips on the other man’s. For a moment Luo Binghe honestly doubted his eyes. Was it so late already that he had started hallucinating? Or had the (actually more or less fading, but still rather present) crush on his teacher led him to have very weird daydreams? Though, if he thought about it a bit more, it would make sense even if this was not a dream. After all, he had never seen them apart from one another more than one or two times and he knew that they did live in a house together, one week on Qing Jing, the other on Qiong Ding peak. And he also knew that there was only one bedroom in use in the bamboo house since he had to make the bed from time to time. But the whole thing was nonetheless a bit unexpected to him and he felt a bit uncomfortable. Even more so, when Shen Qingqiu noticed him and with an exclamation almost fell off the other man’s lap if the men hadn’t held him
