"Well then," Shen Qingqiu said after Luo Binghe had concluded his last move for their training, "It is getting rather late I see. We will conclude for today. Tomorrow you will be learning something new. Those will be the techniques that you will not yet be able to show anyone, alright? So keep that in mind tomorrow."

"Of course, Shizun. I won't forget," Luo Binghe replied eagerly. Right after he looked like he wanted to say something else, but he was a bit uncertain. At an encouraging look of Shen Qingqiu's he got himself to speak up nonetheless. "Urm...baba, I have a question..."

"Speak," Shen Qingqiu said.

"I would like to learn something cool. Like, urm...To impress A-Yuan with. He is so smart, I bet all of the normal fighting techniques he already knows, so...urm..."

Shen Qingqiu didn't really know if he should be displeased by Luo Binghe basically calling their peak's techniques 'not cool' or if he should be annoyed by the other youth practically living rent free in Luo Binghe's head.

"Binghe, I know I am not really leading by the best example, but it would really be best if you were to concentrate on training first and foremost. I can understand that at your age something like this feels extremely special and you really want to show him how much you care, but this is not something one can rush into," he said, trying to sound like how he would expect a good father figure to sound like, "Do you actually know him well? Tell me about his past or his family."

"Ah, he- he..." Luo Binghe tried to think of something, but he quickly realized that he had never even asked Shen Yuan anything about himself.

"If you want to be with someone the way I am with your...papa, then you need to know what they are like. You need to know things that could upset them and things that make them happy. Otherwise this will be rather...short-lived," Shen Qingqiu said, "I know about my husband's past because we grew up together, but I can tell you that even we had misunderstandings because we didn't know everything about one another. And I don't mean you have to know everything, but at least knowing a little bit is a good basis. Do you understand me?"

Luo Binghe nodded quietly.

"Binghe, you are a good child and you deserve to be treated well. You asked me to become your guardian, so I will ensure that you will grow up well and if he does make you happy and wants to make you happy too then I will not say anything against it."

"Baba thinks I'm good?" Luo Binghe asked happily.

"I don't know how you behave in front of others, but in front of me you have behaved well," Shen Qingqiu replied, "Is Binghe hinting that he is misbehaving when I am not there to observe?"

"No, I would never dishonor Shizun by misbehaving in front of others."

"Good kid," Shen Qingqiu said, smiling slightly. "You know, I've been thinking. Amongst the techniques we have on this mountain, there are a couple rather unique ones, but I don't know if you would think them suitable for the purpose."

"Baba is willing to show me still?" Luo Binghe asked, surprised.

"Well, learning a technique takes its time, so by the time you think it suitable to impress that boy, you will have to be able to pull it off," Shen Qingqiu replied, "Besides, I trust you have taken advice to heart and you know the right time."

"Of course!" Luo Binghe said excitedly.

"But I need to ask you something else," Shen Qingqiu began, not really knowing how to ask that type of question, "That you like that child... it is not because you see me as a role model and do that because I have a husband, is it?"

"That, uhh..." Luo Binghe was a bit flustered at the question, but he was happy he could deny it. Yet the argument he could bring up in his defense was maybe a bit embarrassing, "I kinda liked A-Yuan ever since i first saw him. He was just so pretty and nice and so cool. I didn't know about you being married to Shibo then. I thought you were friends or something. And...urm...I kind of, even before I got really accepted as a disciple, thought someone was very pretty who is a...but that urm..."
