Yue Qingyuan was exhausted. Really. He had come to Zhao Hua Monastery for answers, but he had basically been blocked off. The leader of the monastery, Wu Wang had even told him indirectly that it was certainly disrespectful to insinuate that the Huan Hua palace master might have lied or not told the whole truth and that although Yue Qingyuan had not even hinted at that.

At least this showed him that there definitely was something wrong, but he really did not have the right to prod more. The only thing that he did figure out was that there was indeed no real proof that Tianlang-jun had planned on attacking the cultivation world with his army, otherwise Wu Wang would have  named that proof in defense.

Having gotten nothing, Yue Qingyuan already planned on heading back home when on the way out he came across a familiar face. Abbot Wu Chen whom he had seen by Wu Wang's side during the short-lived conversation. The man generally had a relaxed and calm expression, but this time he was looking around conspicuously before indicating for Yue Qingyuan to follow him. Yue Qingyuan followed swiftly, though not knowing what the older man wanted to tell him that was apparently so confidential that not even Wu Wang was allowed to know that he told him.

Yue Qingyuan was led to a separate room in the monastery and he had not even sat down yet before a hot cup of tea appeared on the table for him. Wu Chen waited to sit down until Yue Qingyuan was properly seated himself. Only then did Wu Chen sit down on the cushion across from him, joining his hands in his sleeves.

"Sect leader Yue, thank you for following me," Wu Chen said, politely lowering his head to  further show his thankfulness.

"That is nothing you need to thank me for. It is I who came here and came with a wish, needing your hospitality," Yue Qingyuan replied with a smile.

"May this abbot inquire the reason why sect leader Yue chose to inquire about this situation today?" Wu Chen asked, "It has been a long time ago."

"That is correct," Yue Qingyuan said, nodding slowly, "I must admit that I would probably not have come here to ask if something had not come up, but I would lie if I said that I did not have doubts for a long while already..." He took a deep breath. He had the feeling that Wu Chen must know something, but he wishes to know if Yue Qingyuan was sincere about this. "My husband has taken in a disciple a little while ago and...I could not shake the feeling that his face seemed familiar. I came to find out after some time that he bears a strong resemblance to a head disciple I once met, but...also someone else," Yue Qingyuan carefully phrased. He did not know just what Wu Chen knew. He trusted the abbot to be trustworthy, but this subject was still rather delicate.

"I must say that I was a little concerned, but Qingqiu-shidi brought up a point that got me thinking and I promised to stand with him," Yue Qingyuan continued, "My husband is very fond of this disciple of his and the kid is truly the sweetest of souls. He is afraid though that because of past grievances it might be that he will not be accepted by our peers. My husband wishes for a peaceful world in which his disciple needs not worry about whom his father might have been and can grow up just like any other child."

Wu Chen nodded slowly, seemingly understanding what Yue Qingyuan was saying despite his cryptic choice of words. He seemed to ponder on a decision as he closed his eyes for a moment. "What does peak lord Shen expect such a peaceful world to look like?" he asked at last.

"He thinks that us humans have been at war with the demonic race for far too long. In his opinion this whole enmity is both meaningless and baseless, only causing thousands of lives on both sides while we could live in peace next to each other instead. And I must say that he is right. Looking at this child and how beaming his smile is from a single praise from Qingqiu-shidi, I cannot think that the difference between us humans and the demons is so big."
